  • Never made it to shops yesterday for washing up liquid. Haven't quite run out yet either so thats good. DH had to buy milk whilst i was at work, along with 2 bottles of cheap bubble bath and some chocolates for the kids to take to school. Its no uniform day the the bottles/chocolate are for the fayre.

Anyway, he spent £3.35.... i remember the day he would pop to the shop and waste £20 on magazines for the kids and treats we didn't need! :D

I'll be having a nsd day today. I'm going to stay in and prepare as much as I can using what I have in. I am going to mash and freeze 2.5kg of potatoes and make a beef pie first, then think what else I can prepare.

  • I have never done well with coupons I remember printing off stuff from savvy and getting them refused cos they were home printed. I will use the coupon in the Tesco mag but that's it

I haven't had any of my home printed ones refused yet, although I carry around the tesco coupon policy just in case. I do look for a cheerful person on the till this does help I think.

  • Made the mistake of sending the DH to the shop tuesday for milk and yesterday for bread. Both shops ended up around £15!! I shall go myself in future.

"I have a conditional spend coupon for one of your competitors (e.g £4 off your next £20 shop at Sainsbury's). Can I spend this at your store?
No, we're sorry we do not accept these types of coupons in our stores.
I have a coupon for a branded product (e.g 50p off any Persil product). Can I spend this at your store?
Yes, we'd be happy to accept these coupons as long as you've purchased the product (one voucher will be accepted per product), and the terms and conditions on the coupon are met. We do not accept damaged or copied coupons.
I've printed a coupon off from the internet. Do you accept these in your stores?
We're happy to accept internet coupons as long as the terms and conditions on the coupon have been met and the coupon has a barcode."

  • we had a takeaway last night, as I got tips from work *yippee* :)

Back to being good this week until DH gets paid next Thursday.

Meal plan for this week looks like this:

Today - yesterday's planned dinner of chicken 'bolognese' with pasta
Friday - HM Fish and chips
Saturday - Sausage and Mash and onion gravy
Sunday - roast garlic chicken with pots and veg
Monday - smoked sausage pasta bake
Tuesday - BBQ chicken fillets with rice and veg
Wednesday - scrambled eggs and beans

I need to go to A$da and pick up a couple of bits, but that will be it for spending this month :)

  • Thinking yesterday that I would be only £8 over budget as DH gets paid friday and I've obviously mis-read the calendar as he doesnt get paid til monday argh! Oh well minimal spends and around £30 over budget I imagine.

Having chicken stir-fry for dinner tonight. Had some vouchers for the tesco finest yoghurts and just had one (fudge) after lunch and they are very sweet (and bad for the diet at 270kals per pot yikes!). Might give these to DH and the kids after dinner lol

  • I'm declaring for the month, as I get paid Monday and that's when we will start on December's budget, we are over (as expected after the incident shopping with bf) I daren't think how much - probably £20 or so I think.

Bf is away now until late Sunday night so I will be eating out of the freezer mostly - although I am going to treat myself to a curry on Saturday night as he hates them so I rarely have one (usually take away) when he is here! I figured as I will be at the 'big ASDA' anyway for an opticians apt I will get some sauce and naan (although may try making a naan!) and make myself one :D
