I feel like we're in a bit of freezer-clearing limbo in the heat and humidity, as I'm not really cooking so we're not using up our stockpiles, and I'm adding more and more courgettes to the freezer!

Nothing lasts forever though and I'll be moaning when it's cold and muddy!:)

2.5 breads/desserts recipes are now left from the 21 at the start of the month.
No weekend local shopping yet so no food purchases. Not sure about today; the weather looks and sounds "uninviting".

Made a small dent in freezer stuff over the past few days -

Out – sweet potato wedges, sausages, tuna quiche, savoury mince, 2 slices brown bread, smoked haddock, sumac chicken.

In – pineapple, nectarines, apricots, scotch eggs, cucumber.

    Used up – courgettes, aubergine.

There is better balance of meat vs chicken meals in there now and I have a good supply of fresh & frozen F&V plus the salad leaves I have growing in tubs outside so I'm really on a mission not to buy anything for the next 2 weeks, away to update my inventory and make up next weeks meal plan.

The change in the weather has nudged me back to meal planning after going with the flow when it was too hot to contemplate cooking very much. I'm hoping to use up some of my vast stocks to rebuild a stock of meals or parts of over the coming weeks and create some space for any surplus garden veg- of course that will all go to pot if it gets sunny & warm again :D
    In: tuna fishcakes
    Out: lorne, tattie scone
    Used up: marmalade
Ditched: lurking pot of mostly used up single cream that was very OOD and mouldy:o:o
