In - a tiny weekly shop for fresh things, 16 mint magnums, 8 mini twisters

Out - jar of tuna pasta bake (this week's lunches), sausages for dinner tom, two past their bb yogs (me), two yogs (ch), one pack crisps, strawbs, last of the frozen raspberries, one sorry-looking kiwi, the last of a punnet of cherries, an old onion, a few mushrooms from a big box, half a pack of bacon. An eclectic mix, obviously not eaten at the same time!

Not too bad for one day's work, although some things will be eaten over several days, so it won't be as good for the next couple of days.

  • I recently did a stocktake of all my supplies and it's ridiculous that I am still shopping every week, with the amount I have in the house. Can I join in?

Today I had one of the packs of instant noodles I've had in the cupboard for 3 years or more. I used to eat more of them, so still had stocks in when I dropped from a packet a week to 2-3 a year.

It's instant noodles and peas for tea tonight :)

    Into the freezer: Nothing.
    Out: Some peas.

    Out:
3 half packets of almonds, hazelnuts and walnuts, mixed with quarter packet of desiccated coconut, a third of a jar of mincemeat, and 5 small bars of Moser Roth 75% dark chocolate, melted. Teaspoons of the mix went into mini muffin cases.

All ingredients were in the kitchen cupboards. This worked better than last week's first attempt using coconut flour, which made the fruit & nut clusters too melty. I'm taking these improved ones to a craft workshop for sharing.
