Franalamadingdong:- Thanks for the recipe on goats cheese that's fantastic and doable. I'm going to have ago at it, any idea where I can get citric acid - do they sell it at the supermarkets? Goats cheese is so expensive and there is quite a limited range, W*rose is the best place and I've been known to go and spend over £60 just on cheese and then freeze it.
I darn't touch cows cheese. You would be surprised what contains cheese, I've lived with this over 20yrs but you do get used to reading all the labels when shopping and eating very plain things in restaurants.0 -
You can get it from the chemist, e.g. boots. Make sure you specify that it is for culinary use.
I was allergic to cow's milk as a babe. Mum used to buy goats milk and make it into yogurt for me, which is rather cute. Thankfully I am fine these days. No food allergies or intolerances.0 -
Took some lentil stew and a pitta bread out of the freezer for lunch today so all's well so far. However.... it's hubby's turn to cook tonight and he'll probably panic about trying to do something 'special' and order a takeaway. I may just mention that I just fancy a bowl of pasta tonight before he gets any crazy ideas. I'm determined to keep on track with this!0

Hey zafiro1984,
You can get big bags of citric acid from health food shops, Wilko's/Wilkinsons and any home-brew places. I use it to make cordial!
Used up the penultimate bag of frozen runner beans, the ostrich steaks I bought in Ladle after Christmas, reduced to £4 and about to have sausage salad for tea (yum) with the last string of chipolatas from Christmas

IN
20 slices of fruit teabread, I made two loaves this morning. I haven't bought biscuits since Christmas as I'm still using up ingredients from the cupboards. I've still got enough items to make date and chocolate loaf and orange and sultana loaf, after that I'll have to buy a few things.
I don't mind bulk cooking and putting items in the freezer I've made providing I don't have to buy any (or very few) of their ingredients. I just need to vastly reduce the amount of food I have in total whether it's from the cupboards, freezers or pantry. I've a whole long way to go.0 -
Out: more bendy green veg (which I had stir fried with garlic and chilli flakes), last of the chipolata sausages from last night (also from Christmas), eggs, family had actifry chips and baked beans but none for me; lunch was leftover veg omelette and leftover salad for me, scrambled egg on toast DD, spaghetti on toast DH and ham sandwich DS. All from the cupboards / fridge.
In: leftover stir fried green veg (will have for my lunch tomorrow); cooking bacon split into bags and frozen
February NSD #10 today but I will absolutely need to go tomorrow and plan to double up on bread, milk, dairy etc. Also have a few bits and bobs to restock the fruit and veg and fresh stuff. I will have a list and will stick to it - will also get the non-fresh items needed for next week's meal plan too. Less shopping trips that way.0 -
In: 23 large chicken breasts, 4 Wagyu burgers, 2 turkey burgers, 12 chicken meatballs, 6 turkey sausages.
Anyone for chicken? That takes me up to 37 breasts:D
Out: 2 Wagyu burgers, 2 Wholemeal muffins, Chips.
Indulging tonight. Last night I ended up having to turn out in my pjs as DH had left his lights on.
Menu planning is on the cards for this evening.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
Well, I take it back about my husband and his spendy ways, he made veggie toad in the hole last night and it was lovely.
I'm on UFO for lunch today. I have absolutely no idea what it's going to turn out to be until I bung it in the microwave at work.
The freezer is now sensibly filled and you can see what's there so I'm concentrating on trying to use up all the really old things that have been lurking there for who knows how long. I've still got a long way to go before I'm in a similar place with the cupboards (I also have stores stashed under the stairs from too much AF ordering) but I am making progress. :-)0
