Soooo cold here, snowing, frozen water to the hens, spent the morning sorting them out, got wet hands and gloves which seems to make it even colder. I'm just starting to thaw out, We need something warm and comforting for lunch.
OUT
Half of an uncooked turkey carcass, going to see if there's enough meat on it for a casserole, plus some lovely stock and maybe bits for soup.
A chocolate traybake which just needs a topping.
2 portions HM soup plus rolls
uncooked plums and some apples for a giant crumble which I shall then portion up and freeze.
IN
1 portion of venison casserole, I made enough for eight portions but DD arrived, helped with sample taking and took home most of said casserole, plus eggs, plus some raised pie - never mind I enjoy her company.
Oh dear just looked out of the window and the snow is just making a more determined effort0 -
Cold and very wintery here today.
I have made a Muscle Foods order for late next week so I have to find some more room before then. I have four empty drawers now and I even know what is in the freezer now!!
Out
Fish
Potato
seasonings
Passata, beans, rice, pasta
Eggs
Finished up washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, four little bathroom bits (but they seem to be multiplying)Don't get it perfect - Get it goingBetter Than Before0 -
In - Very large haggis (YS in MrW and we missed the real thing this year. Now we just need guests as an excuse), 4 pasties (for DH lunches)
Out - potatoes (for tuna fish cakes), Sausages (for slow cooker cooked breakfast - 0500 start tomorrow if we try Glenshee), pilau rice - frozen on Thursday after takeaway, to be used up with the rest of the takeaway in the fridge for tonight.
All the space I have created is going to be refilled on Tuesday - Musclefood order. I was hoping to put it off until the end of the month, but I need the protein powder so no point double delivery charge instead of no delivery charge.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
Out for me -
packet of crumpets for DH and DS (unexpected snack needed)
old ice-cream container of hm chicken stock,
2 huge handfuls of homegrown broad beans
2 onions from my sack of home-grown (down to the last half dozen)
1 butternut squash (also from my home-grown sack)
Made soup - 1 portion left - maybe for my lunch at work if someone doesn't use it
In -
pack of 5 pork shoulder steaks (4 frozen, 1 to DS to take home). - part of 3 for £10
minced beef (bought 500g pack but needed 200g, so rest will be frozen) in two bags
Chicken - will roast this tomorrow as forecast still grim
Loads of fruit & veg
Plan to make lasagne with leek sheets instead of pasta this evening but DS wants real pasta so might make a separate one for him and use a bit more mince
All the snow has melted here but weather cold and grim
Stay warm and watch rugby then!

Hi Pauline, hope you don't mind me asking but have you used Muscle Foods before? I was considering getting a refill-freezer pack from them but I'd hate to make make a mistake, spend too much and find its not great. Their prices look good.
I've put an order in with my local butcher this time, a bit more expensive but I know what the quality is like and he always throws in a few freebies.
Wish I'd joined in this thread earlier as I've been using up my stocks from Xmas and now have empty freezer drawers too0 -
Katkin I use them a lot. Excellent quality and price - particularly the chicken breasts. They are HUGE and not filled with water. I've just ordered 5kg for £19.
Only reservation is the casing on their Sausages. It's tough.
Can highly recommend their Wagyu burgers. More expensive than Aldi, but sooo much better flavour.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
Out: 1 HM sausage roll, 2 portions turkey curry, 1 portion chicken chowder, 1 naan, pkt of microwave rice and a tin of tomato soup
In: nothing0 -
Took out a loaf of bread yesterday, as well as some fish and used a tin of beans up. Planning on having a roast tomorrow but DS said he feels poorly so might have to rethink.0

Thank you Furrythat's great to know as their prices are excellent, especially for items like chicken breasts. They don't seem to do cuts like oxtail or pork ribs which I've asked my local butcher for but I'd feel more confident now buying chicken, burgers or some of their high protein products.
I'll pass on the sausages, my local man will make up anything I request and his own recipes, like the beef and mustard are delicious. It must be a Scottish thing to have beef sausages and things like square steak slice which make amazing stovies
My apologies for taking the thread off topic. I get uber excited about re-stocking up again
Thanks once again Furry X ,0 -

Thanks once again Furry X ,
For oxtail and similar I use Donald Russell. Another online. And Scottish.
And not off topic. Sensible planning for freezer stocking:D. Re. MF - be careful of Hellfire Chicken pizza and anything Dragon Fire if you aren't into VERY spicy.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0
