Lovely morning at Book Club and the cake was very nice.I abstained from breakfast so I could have a taste. The lady who makes them is really clever and it was a cake shaped like a comfy armchair with a book on one of the arms and a cuppa on the other .
tea was free so apart from my small shop before I went there I have not really spent a great deal today.
Hanging on to my cash as Christmas is looming:)
Cheers chums keep warm and dry if you can today

Horribly wet and dank here, had a blood test this morning and the daft nurse didn't know that I had to have a hab1c, I have to have one every three months at the moment because they keep altering my medication
I was going down on my scooter but DH said that he didn't want me getting chilled, so he took me.

Afternoon All
Miserable day here! Went and did a little food shop at lunch, some garlic bread and salad to go with our Gnocchi tonight, as I'm not convinced we've got enough to fill 2 people. We shall see!!
TTFTM - good luck with your interview!
Not much else to report really. Trying to decide if I should take a payment holiday on my gas/elec next month to take the strain off Christmas, If I budget properly I shouldn't be fine, but atleast it's an extra £50 should I need it.
Plan for tonight is to get home and take the woofer out for a little walk (we didn't make it out yesterday, naughty owner) and also try and get a nice photo of the kitten so I can order the 2nd part to OH's birthday present tomorrow.
Hope everyone is okay!

Afternoon All,
TTFTM - hope the interview goes well today, fingers crossed.
Sistercas - that must have been an amazing experience for DD! I swam with dolphins in Dom Republic a few years ago, which I will always remember.
NMLC - shocking that you have to go to such lengths to protect your property, but I guess that is the society we now find ourselves in.
Redruby - continue to take one day at a time. I'm sure there will be a lot of people trying to say nice things to you both, just hope neither of you find it too upsetting.
Judi - so your new friend will upset the God Squad even more than me!
Awful day here - definitely an "indoors" day. OH and I have been busy this last week purchasing Christmas presents in the various sales. Very pleased we are sorting things early and are doing so well.
Have a good day everyone :beer:0 -
Hi all
I hope TTFTM's interview goes/went well (not sure what time it's scheduled).:o
Sistercas swimming with sharks sounds great, lucky DD2. I wish I could swim.:o
Redruby I hope Little Dog gets on ok at the vets – is she still on insulin injeculations? (Mr LW's word for them).
Did I imagine it, or does someone else have a poorly dog in need of healing vibes? I get the feeling I've missed some news – maybe it was on FB and people have just referred to it here and I don't know what's happened, as I'm not a member of FB. Ah, I've just read a bit more of today's thread, and I see it's Bargainbird's little Tilly dog – ok, healing vibes on their way. Apologies for not cottoning on before.
Judi tbh, if it was me, I'd put my foot down and refuse to attend another car showroom visit, on the grounds that I have better things to do.;)
Csarina GWS vibes for DH. I know, men are such wimps when it comes to pain – Mr LW is, too, though bless him he tries to hide it from me if he's hurting cos he knows I worry. Which ligaments has DH torn? (Not that I'm an expert). I just wondered if taking the stairs on his bum while he heals would perhaps be an option? – it's what I used to do before I moved to a bungalow.
Ruby Lab has had her little trundle out today; I had to go to the Paste Orifice in the next estate, too (we don't have one on our estate) but that'd have been too far for her poor little arthritic leggies, so I took her out first, then popped her back indoors, and zipped off on the scooter again to post my item. I was only gone about 20 mins, but the greeting I got, you'd think I'd been away for a month!:D
HM pizza for dins tonight - I've made the base, just need to construct the topping - Mr LW has left some cheese grated ready, and onion diced up, in dishes in the fridge for me, to save wrecking my hands.:A He's also asked if I'll make a banana crumble, so I'd better get that done shortly.:o We got 14 bananas for £1 at Central MK Market on Saturday.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Just had a phone message to say that OH is being discharged, They have him on crutches and he can manage the stairs, they are bringing him home by Ambulance.....wonders will never cease......I was getting ready to go in and see him when they rang.
LW its the ligaments in his left foot that are the worst, could take up to 6 months to heal....great joy.......I am really looking forward to that not!!
I have to get him to the surgery on Wednesday for his warfarin test, that's going to be fun.
I am shattered did not sleep well last night, treid to have a nap on the settee after lunch....no earthly good, so by the time I go to bed tonight I will be exhausted.
Hope OH is prepared to sit downstairs for a while so I do not have to spend all evening running up and down stairs.......0 -

Back in bed again (4:07p.m.) it's been a nice easy day with NDL & DS & GS just hanging around. I didn't think it was cold enough for central heating, but managed to revive yesterday's (real) fire so everyone gravitated towards the living room where it was cosy. Managed to run a wash load now that the Chinese laundry (my house) has been cleared of the weekend stuff, so it was like Grandma's with a clothes horse standing near the fire. Baked a batch of Choc chip cookies from an old Family Circle recipe, I knew that I'd had a lot of success with dickering around with the recipe and coming u with something a lot nearer Millie's Cookies, but since it's been a long time and a whole new oven since I last made them, I stuck to the given recipe. Still unsure about the performance of the new cooker, so put a thermometer in, which confirmed my suspicions that it isn't coming up to temperature.
Made some flapjack too, and made Latke style omelette for three of us. This afternoon, I made an apple & blackcurrant crumble from H.G. fruit, and pulped the excess tomatoes also HG, thing that will be used for tonight's meal, but not sure how yet.
Then down to the horrors of making notes re: my sick leave,, which has left me realising that life outside my front door is not exactly sweet at the moment, so on here to "share". May go for GS cuddles soon. Also have to collect the dogs sometime from MIL's.0 -
I think ive missed something. Whats wrong with Tilly dog?
Talking about dogs... i'm going to worm mine when they ask for their dinner. Wish me luck.:(
Cheese.......and more cheese just for safe measure:T:T:TI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
