bet they don't.0 -

did i say the pavement was blocked? does it looked blocked or would you like some cheese to go with your whine?
Well at least there is something we agree on.
As someone else has said a picture paints a thousand words, does it look like a wheelchair user could safely negotiate either pavement?0 -
it's a picture taken from Google maps. You can't judge the gap between the cars and the fence and the first car on the left is blocking the edge of the first house so you can't see how big the gap is.
But I didn't just pick a random street off the internet. It's the street down the side of the barbers where I get my hair cut - hence knowing what the parking is like. It's a wide pavement, you can get a double buggy down past the parked cars.0 -

Its on google earth. SO you can check the area out, if you do not believe the scheming gypsy and then you can post the evidence.
I will believe scheming gypsy in the mean time as they have been transparent in showing what there local road is like. THough if photos show otherwise I will change my mind.0 -

..... and just because it would be inconvenient to motorists you think it's acceptable.
I find it unbelievable how selfish some able bodied people are
No you numpty ,emergency services wouldn't be able to get past.some of those residents who park there will also have mobility problems, if the police dont see it as a problem...0 -

Have you seem a terrace house before? They often have alleys but very few terraces have off street parking behind them. If they did then people wouldn't park on the street!0 -
Here's another Google Maps search for you: Thoday Street, Cambridge
So in answer to your question, yes people do park on the pavements in long streets. As you can see it's advocated by the council. And no they don't have off street parking "hidden" somewhere. I've spent most of my life living in Victorian terraces and that very idea makes me :rotfl:
What would you like them to do if a fire engine comes down the road? How do you expect the bin lorries to come down the road or would you prefer people wheel their wheelie bins several miles to the tip every week?
Not everyone can "time" their shopping trips right so they don't block the road/pavement. Some people have to do their shopping on their own (cos, y'know, not everyone has a partner) and can't just dump their shopping down on the pavement then go and park their car 3 streets away.0 -
People can park in the back street but by people i mean one car - at the entrance because if it parked any further back it'd get blocked in. There's only one way into the back street as there's a laundrette just to the left of the car so the back street doesn't go all the way through.
The entrance is
So people can't park there as the other houses have garages. You can see how much space there is for people to get past and the first car on the right on the first picture...
so loads of room. although the most sensible idea would have been to make the road wider instead of a narrow road and wide pavements0 -

The above link clearly shows they have access to a back lane to park their cars in0 -
