How to fall in love with saving money

My life seems to have degenerated into work (very busy
) and running, so Saturday night was pasta night in preparation for the long run this morning - 36km (or 22 1/3 miles, if you prefer) was three hours exactly, so just about where I want to be right now. Then got in through the door, sat down, and got called out by work
Not much to report otherwise, although following the thread when I get time :T
Lomcevak, work sounded as though they were getting ready to perhaps give you more money, so perhaps the business could bring rewards? ... Meanwhile, well done on the runningFantastic effort, looking forward to hearing your final marathon time :T:T:T

It's one of those sooner or later, probably later things. Stuck in 'lets see how you do' at the momentMeanwhile, well done on the runningFantastic effort, looking forward to hearing your final marathon time :T:T:T
Fingers crossed it's all going well, just need to stay healthy now.0 -
Lomcevak, fingers crossed on both counts (work and running).
Do keep us updated

It's the shed roof which is starting to fall in - it's corrugated iron and has developed a sizeable hole in one corner. I do have a spare bit of corrugated iron I could use to cover it but believe me I've tried to fix shed roofs before and the results never last. I'd actually love to have better carpentry skills.
I'll ask the allotment manager if she knows anyone who might be willing to help.
atush, the prices sound so alarming I think you ought to permanently keep a glass of bucks fizz to hand in case you see any others
Have started readying myself for my Italy trip in October by taking (free) Italian lessons on Duolingo (very handy website). Did I mention it was free? ... :T
Just memorize the most important phrases, such as due bierra per favore, and quanto costano quelle scarpe?
Ie 2 beers please and how much are those shoes?0 -

ha ha, thanks, atush, can abandon my Italian lessons already, you've saved me all of the troubleThose phrases are a lot more useful than "it is the woman who drank the water", etc

Morning all, or should that be "buongiorno" (now that I'm trying to learn Italian
). It's a gorgeous day and another week before I have to go back to work.
I had a look at the new design for the MSE forums - anyone else tested it out? ... I felt glad to get back to the old format but that's probably because I'm so used to it.0 -
It is raining her in cannes now, so huddled in my room waiting til time to head out for lunch. catching up on my emails and watching bbc news.
Haven't spent any money today yet, but last nights Dinner was fabulous.0 -
It absolutely poured down in Paris the last day I was there, but it passed quickly - hope you got out and about again, atush. PS would love to hear details of dinner!0

I did some sums this morning and don't think I will be able to save quite so much this month as last but we'll see. I joins the "no buying books till you've read the ones you've got" challenge and my food/household spend will continue to fall so those things in themselves are small victories. Can' quite believe I only started this diary last Oct - it feels as though I've always been trying to save money now (sadly not the case).0
