How to fall in love with saving money

I must admit, if I'm in a shop and the assistant has spent quite a bit of time and effort trying to help find something, I don't really like saying "well thanks" at the end and then just walking out with the intention of looking elsewhere to get it cheaper - it's probably more MSE, but it also seems rude. The shop people were really helpful, and I judged it to be a pretty good markdown.0

Flick216, agreed with atush about pensions - not that I have much in mine, but I plan to squirrel away as much as I can in it in the 15 years or so I have left until I retire.
I have had a very tiring day so not much to add to that, really.0 -
I am sure you are absolutely right - I just seem to have a blind spot about them for some reason. Presumably the same utterly irrational reason I only like Japanese cars (I'll take German at a push but never French) and wines from south of the equator!:huh:
I think I'm still in the mindset of government pensions - it is something I will look into - my company will be starting a pension scheme soon.
Do look into it, and join it- never turn down free money lol
Anyway I like Japanese cars, but am currently driving Korean. Husband drives German lol. So we have common ground.
While I will drink French and US wines, even Italian or Spanish at a pinch, I do love southern hemisphere stuff. But I try to limit it a bit, as it tends to have higher alcohol as that sun shines so strongly.0 -

I love southern hemisphere stuff too but am happy with pretty much any red as long as it is drinkable. White I'm a bit fussier about.
I asked for a pay rise today ... we'll see how it goes.0 -
Well iv definitly got the Friday feeling. Cracking on at work making a good days pay, got a three quater day of work ahead tomorrow so apart from work my weekend will be spent relaxing Infront of the telly knowing I'm not spending a penny
definitly fallen in love with the savings game, just need to stick at it now for long term and watch it all mount up. Iv been reading early retirement wannabe forum thread, an interesting read as I'm not that clued up on pensions etc. Looking forward to an early night as opposed to being out wasting money on endless amounts of drink, taxis and take aways!!

Hi All
Love love LOVE the fact that it's Friday! Bring on the weekend! Payday today, so stuck another £180 into my savings account..see my signature for my new total .
I need to start looking into personal pensions. Can anyone give me some beginners advice for what to look at and where to start please. I know NOTHING about pensions as a whole, so easy to understand language would be helpful0 -

That savings pile looks fantastic- but why haven't you been packing your lunch? Still only 5 days this month?0 -
I have been, atush, just too lazy to update it
Hehehe, I really should update it, considering that I am running the thread!
