Thanks, I couldn't see that from the pic. :)

Do you have any ideas what to do to make packets of mints more creative. I have a 12yo neice not keen on sweets or choc but likes packets of mints? A little choc would be ok in mint flavour as long as the choc was milk eg aero rather than dark eg after eights. My mum always used to buy her a box of mingles instead of a selection box, though she still didn't like all of them but they'v stopped doing them.

I made these last year. You could change friend for neice.

  • You can try making a microwave-able heat pack.
They are completely customizable, you can choose the shape, style design, fabric and so on to fit the recipient.
I have done mines by sewing them by hand so a sewing machine isn't necessary.
They are fairly easy to make and I think they are nifty as gifts.

Omo- live the sweetie jars, love Mia too, she looks gorgeous - can't keep up on the other thread lol

Teamsheppard - thank you for link fir hear pack, think I'll do some Christmassy ones. They said to fill with bird seeds. Wonder what else you can use . Don't fancy using bird food

For all you bakers out there, I recycled some sweet tins - left over from Halloween . Be good to put your home bakes in and then personalised to recipient , if you use chalk to decorate and pop a stick in the tin. The person can then use it again when they ate the contents and baked themselves

  • I've had teddy bears with wheat in them, but they were pretty thick, no chance of anything poking.
If you can find rounded rice you can use that, or I think if the fabric is thick you can use rice anyway.
A google search shows people using all sorts of grains, lentils and corn even!

I think the biggest thing for me would be one that doesn't smell funny/off when heated!
  • Ohh just seen your tin idea (coffee not yet wholly consumed) I have been saving a few as well!!!
I also have a few Slim Fast ones that I was going to cover with craft paper (they have red tops anyway that go with season colours).
