Please Please Please help.
Ive just treated myself to a 42" Plasma. Got the Samsung PS42Q97HDX.
Got it connected, no probs. The piccy was a little pixilated at times and I went into Comet and spoke to this guy who seemed to be in the know.
I asked him about improving the piccy quality and after a very long conversation, he told me that Monster Scart Cables were the best on the market and wiuld improve my picture quality considerably.
Question is - Is this true?
if yes, where can I get them from for the cheapest money?
if no, which are the best?
and where can I get those from?
Please Help, I'm confused

Doubt it will fix your pixellation, that's plasma and lcd's for you. Comet make a nice mark-up on those cables..Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

doubtful .
good , but the best on the market ? nope. some of the very high end cables will be better but at a very high price . i use Philex THOR SCART for my SKY + and it is really only bettered by super high end ( £100 +) SCARTS imo.
if you want the best for a reasonable price IXOS is probably the best choice
but really you want to be going up from Scart if you have a good DVD player and, or SKY HD.
you should go for HDMI at least for SKY HD, and same if your DVD has such outputs.
if your DVD does not have HDMI go for Component leads, which is what i use for my DVD, again i use Philex THOR RGB and have no complaints.
get your self to your nearest Richer Sounds for a good price and proper advice on anything like this .

any site that spouts bull such asWhat's the point of buying oxygen-free copper cable if the oxygen gets in as soon as you expose it to air? Use our UNIQUE UV-TAPE to seal the connections. This self-amalgamating tape emits strong ultra-violet radiation which converts harmful ozone into ordinary sea water.
has to be high up on my list of who to buy from0 -
Just get a good quality standard scart cable, all of this over hyped ..over priced stuff is just that.;)0

This site is an absolute corker !
" A 50 Amp gold-plated fuse is fitted to ensure the highest audio quality from your ghetto-blaster or CD player. Beryllium-copper contacts reduce the frequency lag phase shift normally experienced with a recorder player fitted with a sapphire stylus."
The trouble is, people will believe it - especially the 'green' lobby !0 -
Are the scart sockets where the connector plugs in to gold? If not, then buying a scart (or any other cable for that matter) with gold connectors makes it pointless as you lose any advantage the gold gives you.Dave. :wave:0

OK, Monster Scart cables are NOT the best on the market. They're OK, but hugely overpriced for what they are - or at least they are at the proces Comet charge for them.
As has been mentioned above, the Philex Thor is superb can be picked up for around £18 (possibly even less if you shop around) at www.tvcables.co.uk. In fact they've got a good range of cables all of which would trounce a Monster cable and for a fraction of the cost.
You don't mention what it is you're trying to connect to your TV. Component RGB or HDMI connections usually beat Scart for quality, but it depends on whether your equipment can output in that format. Your TV has 3 HDMI inputs and one set of component inputs, according to a google search.0
