Would you ring your partners work and ask him to come home?
Yes, without a second thought. You dont sound like a baby at all by the way, more like a very responsible parent who isn't at all well. If a partner of mine felt as you do, and was at home alone responsible for such a young child, I would want to know and to be there for them. Family comes before work every time. I hope you are feeling a bit better OP and have some help and support around you now. Take care
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0 -
Hi,
I know I'm gonna sound like a right baby but please be gentle with me.
If you were ill, to the point where you were vomiting every 10/20 mins, couldn't keep even sips of water down, you have diarhea to the point it has (TMI) turned red (makes me scared n think blood!). You couldn't sit up with out your head spinning and the room going dizzy and your heart was thumping.
And you also had a hyperactive 20 month old running around, who you are really struggling to care for as you can barely get up.
Would you ring your partners work and ask him to come home?
I know I really sound like a baby and I know that's what his work will think, but I really can't look after my son.
What would you do?
Too right I would."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
No. Never. I rode it out, battled on, got through. I'm not a brave soldier but my job was looking after the children and his job was earning. No internet in those days either!0

Red poo is quite common after what you describe....I don't know why you're scared about blood. It's common sense. After lots and lots of straining and acid passing through, you'll likely pass blood through burst vessels.
You should ring out of hours really.0 -

That's very dismissive and unfair.
OP, I hope you feel better soon, you did the right thing.0 -

That is true I suppose. I was trying to be reassuring....but badly so...It's why I think people should ban medical stuff from the net. People presume ohhhhh bowel cancer.
Or from vomiting, the same thing, when in fact it's common, if you're putting the vessels under undue stress, you'll burst them. But people just google all sorts.0 -

I certainly don't want people to start ignoring it when they are vomiting or !!!!!!!! blood!
It can be as simple as you say, but in some cases it can also be much worse.0 -

Exactly which is why they should always phone OOO. As actually where blood is involved it will always warrant a checkup to see if any really nasty bugs are there, so more treatment warranted.0 -
Those who said work would not allow you, you do have rights with a young child to take unpaid time off work to care for them in situations like this.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

To be more precise, the right is to take time off to arrange care for them. There's a long thread on this over in the Employment board.0
