That red diarrhoea does not sound good. You need to get some kind of medical attention.
How are you now, OP?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

Not trying to be rude, just expressing my opinion.
Hmm, however there is a big difference from having to entertain, look after and cook for a toddler - to lying on a sofa browsing on your laptop.
I would ring doctor and get an appointment first and foremost0 -
If you have a norovirus they won't want you at the GP's as it's highly infectious. Call and ask to speak to the GP or ring NHS direct. You need someone and if he's your best option then call him. My husband stayed home once when he thought I was too ill to be alone, in the end the GP worried I had meningitis and hubbie had to drive me to A&E for tests. I was okay but occasionally you're too sick to be alone. It's silly isn't it that we doubt ourselves yet we'd tell others that they were sick and need help.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

Yes call him- you need help to look after your child, AND you need someone to look after you: more than that if you are not keeping down water, you're are risk of dehydration you need medical assistance.0

Call husband and discuss. Don't call nhs at this stage if it had only come on today. They will tell you to take fluid and rest. It will be a waste of time for everyone. If it gets worse or not better by tomorrow, that's another matter.0

I had very similar symptoms to the OP a few months back and I spent the time I wasn't in the bathroom on the internet looking for reassurance that I wasn't going to die any minute. I've never felt so ill in my life and did in fact end up in hospital. There's no way I'd have been able to look after a boisterous toddler, but I was capable of typing on my phone to look for help.
Exactly. I have had flu (proper flu, not a bad cold) and also during recovery from surgery, I managed to surf the net for short periods of time using my laptop. Intermittantly, since they were both tiring states to be in, but at the time of iwannanicerlife's post, OP hadn't been logged on for about an hour, and then only seem to have popped back an hour or so after that. Sitting there with a laptop is hardly the same as running around after a not-quite-2 year old!
OP, hope you're feeling better. If no one else can help, I would have no qualms calling my OH at work if I needed him.0 -
Can you put a DVD on and encourage the toddler to watch it, maybe with a duvet on the sofa? Watching TV all day won't do them any harm for one day.
Is there nobody else you can ask? Parent of anyone they go to pre-school with? I think most people are happy to help out in a crisis and you can return the favour when you are better.0 -
Your husband should be able to leave work if there is no one able to look after your child properly. You should call nhs direct or whatever it's called now too.0

Thanks everyone for replies,
He's come home from work and they were in fact really nice about it.
He's taken LO out so I can rest.
If I'm still the same tomorrow il call out of hours gp.
Thanks0 -
I once fell ill on the school driveway when collecting my son from school. I was dragged into the office for a lie-down and they called hubby for me without asking. I wouldn't have called him myself but he was OK with it and turned up 45 mins later to get me home.0
