You can always tell when I come back to MSE because I get all over-excited and sign up to every challenge going. That's me on the weekly spend challenge and the Flylady one too
I've committed to a £20 spend this week although that doesn't include the £90 boiler service (bah) and estimated spend of £50 on petrol for our trip up north this weekend (double bah).
I've taken all the money out of my purse apart from a crisp £20 note and that's going to be my cash budget for the week. Ideally I'll get nowhere near that, but we'll see

I have no idea how I'm going to do this week on a budget of £20. I have friends coming round for dinner tomorrow but we were all going to get pizza - I might cook instead now. I am also now going out after work on Wednesday. Drat and double drat!
So, the meal plan stands thus:
Today - dinner out with Mama and Papa Moo
Tomorrow - pizza?? Jambalaya if not.
Wednesday - dinner out
Thursday - chilli
Friday - chilli
Saturday - at a wedding so hope I get fed there!
Sunday - fish from the freezer

Does that mean you are thinking of cooking pizza? Buy a beautiful ciabatta bread mix with added herbs and goodness for less than £1 and use it as the base - you'll get two massive pizzas out of it, and it will be really tasty and light. Your friends will be well impressed! :T (If you know how to make ciabatta, then you could make it yourself, I guess.)Debt: £11,640.02 paid in full! DFD: 30/06/20

Oh lord, I wouldn't know where to start! I'm going to make jambalaya I think. One of my friends is of genuine Italian ancestry - I'd be scared to cook pizza for her
The friend who I saw do that - and nicked the tip from - studied in Italy and learnt how to make proper Italian over there! It's dead easy - add the appropriate amount of water to the mix, mix it all up, cover with clingfilm for as long as it says on the packet then half and roll out each half in turn an a floured surface. It literally could not be any easier!
But jambalaya is well yummy...*takes a bite out of Moo's last post*Debt: £11,640.02 paid in full! DFD: 30/06/20

This is jambalaya and the recipe I use. It's relatively low-fat, which is good for my Weight Watchers (not that I'm sticking to it this week) I often make it without the veg because there's nothing in the house and rather than using chicken breasts I normally use whatever is leftover from a roast chicken.
Budgeteering information to follow shortly...

Thank you for the link - that looks yummy and very do-able. Even fussy DS likes most of those ingredients. Will be nice to have a departure from our rather staid meals list!
Hope the AdPoints are on the up. 7 is better than 0!
