Diary of a spendy cow

I'm going to be doing a good bit of spending diary stuff for the first wee while I'm back on MSE as it's good to focus the mind.
So, yesterday's spending was:
Hot water for tea: £1.20 (Had I bought actual cups of tea it would have been £4.20)
New book (Second hand): £2.90
Roll to have with my soup: £0.50 The soup was home made, I just forgot to take bread to work.
New socks for Mr Moo: £5.99
Christmas present: £3.40
Loaf of bread: £1.45
The Christmas present I'm chuffed to bits with. I had seen one mug in Sainsburys my friend would love and it was £2.50. They had the four-mug gift set reduced to £3 last night

Current state of finances is:
Food account: £248.55
Current account: £437.10
Credit card: £133.88
Money in purse: £40
I got a lovely shiny £2 coin in my change yesterday so that's off to live in the terramundi (I am paying for next year's Edinburgh festival with £2 coins) and the other pieces of change are going to live in my piggy bank.
Mama and Papa Moo are in town at the moment so it's going to be a weekend of various shopping centres as they don't get to town often. I'm not looking forward to that part if I'm honestThat being said, I'm using it as an opportunity to get more of the dreaded Christmas shopping done and out of the way. Hopefully by tomorrow the Christmas account will be lower, but the organisation levels will be higher :rotfl:

Christmas shopping? It's still only October!
I'd forgotten how organised you are!
Already your return is influencing me - just completed 4 hours overtime.... Been struggling to do 3 just lately..... Keep the updates coming!I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
Ooft I hate the shops.
On the plus side, Mama Moo has bought me my birthday present (December baby!) early so I now have a lovely new set of pans. They were priced £260 in Debenhams but had a 50% sticker on them and the nice lady honoured the price - according to the website they're not reducedI suspect I'm old now that I'm asking for cookware for my birthday :rotfl:
Spending wise I bought:
Socks for Mr Moo (Christmas) £5
Hot water bottle for friend's birthday £5
Calendar for MIL (Christmas) £2
Book for a friend (Christmas) £5.99
Book for uncle (Christmas) £2.99 (RRP £8.99)
Teaset (Friend's daughter - Christmas) £3.50
So quite a few things ticked off the Christmas/birthday list, although I still have tonnes to do. I'll be doing a lot of it via Amazon this year I think0 -
Long time no see, moo! Life sounds good at present, best of luck with your uni plans. All good here chez tomtombeanie, we are overpaying on our mortgage like lunatics in the hopes of being MF by the time we are 44 to 45 (turned 40 this year, slightly traumatic:) ). Glad to have your updates - keep them coming x (and well done on the Xmas shopping - I'm well underway with mine, too...)Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
:Anow... to start some serious saving :A
