Teachers on Strike

As per usual, light the blue touch paper and retire feigning innocence!
I'm more than happy to continue debating about teaching but your posts now are just attacks at me and you're no longer even talking about teaching!
I don't want to get into a slanging match with my fellow MSE posters so I will now only comment on teaching related subjects.
On a side note have you ever thought about putting me on ignore as you really seem to have a personal dislike of me!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

            not much to add really
A mate of mine 25 years in engineering working shifts unsociable hours etc for a good wage decided he had enough and wanted to spend some time with his family. As part of his job he was a staff trainer so was drawn to teaching.
he packed in his job did the PGCE course to add to his degree and after while secured a teaching job which did not involve relocating across country.
12 months later he is back working shifts in a factory.his reasons the job was !!!! the paperwork overwhelming the school politics annoying parents/pupils hard work and if he was going to put in 60 odd hours a week he wanted paying and he needed time to work on his backswing0

But at least he had a go, which is good.
This illustrates what I was saying that many people think they can do the job but end up frustrated when reality kicks in.
Over the past ten years or so the paperwork has become overwhelming resulting in shattered teachers who can't give any more of their time than they already do. It is all very well saying that teachers get long holidays but, boy, do they need them! My brother is teaching in a private school and he is in the same position.
I always found that I went down with some illness just when I was hoping to enjoy the holiday. I tried to get as much work done as I could at the beginning of the holiday but because of illness, I would end up doing it at the end so it loomed over me and got me off to a bad start the following term.0

I've just discovered the "ignore poster" facility and have used it. Great idea! Will not hesitate to use it again next time I suspect someone is just a wind up merchant.0

How did you "discover this?" - goater78 told you today 11:13 AM:-
"have you ever thought about putting me on ignore "
Amazing how some people manage to fool even themselves....I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0

I suspect that when that post was read the poster went and looked for that facility and "discovered it".
 As here:
 dis·cov·er
verb \dis-ˈkə-vər\ : to see, find, or become aware of (something) for the first time
: to show the presence of (something hidden or difficult to see) : to make (something) known
: to learn or find out (something surprising or unexpected)0

I perhaps shouldn't have brought up the ignore feature as it appears to have been used to my detriment This is a system account and does not represent a real person. LOL, adding to my "ignore" list. Great facility. The best bit is that you don't have to see someone trying to get the last word. Just press.....and they're gone. Till next time they re-register to cause mischief but you do get to recognise the style of posters.0

We were already having a civilised debate on here long before you appeared and started making unacceptable and vile comments so run along and give it a rest with the poor me routine.0
