1) - School governor gives you no indication of how hard teachers work as its in a teachers vested interest for a school governor to think they work hard,
2) - Being the mother of a teacher means nothing. You yourself are not a teacher so the fact you are related to one does not give you a special insight
3) - Worked in schools - doesn't sound like you were a teacher in schools so again you don't really know
4) - You work in education but not as a teacher so again doesn't make you qualified to comment.
5) - A 75 year old could easily be a teacher. Its very narrow minded that you think only certain ages can teach
FYI, I have got QTS to do my current job.;) I don't currently teach, I lecture, but you do need to be qualified to do that!!
Perhaps you could elaborate on your own qualifications to comment?0 -

I would say no but my " teaching qualifications" are not that far off what Poet is claiming so perhaps I am!
It appears as long as you're related to a teacher and been in a school you are an unqualified expert on the entire teaching professionThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I stated further up the thread what I did....clearly, you have no idea of what quals are required to lecture in an FE college. I took it as read that you would be aware that I would be qualified:D seems not.0 -

So why on earth are you commenting? I've no 'teaching qualifications' but have taught pupils, am I qualified to comment?0 -

Yes you will be as qualified as some of the posters on here.
The fact you can teach pupils without a teaching qualification sort of helps prove the argument that its quite easyThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Go try it. Contact a local school and offer your own expertise and you can then maybe speak from experience?
My experience is that you are wrong.0 -

So how did you teach without a qualification? If schools won't let you teach without a qualification and you don't have a qualification how did you manage to teach?
Did you fake a certificate? With my IT skills I could easily do that
On a more serious note I have volunteered teaching in school (just basic computer skills) although I stopped when the rules got more stringent and you had to be CRB checked. Not that I would fail the check but I couldn't be bothered with the hassle! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. You could try, but that wouldn't help you I am afraid.0 -

Yes I suppose I could just go back to university and spend the 20 weeks it would require to achieve this "difficult" qualificationThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
