it works for those first few months when you're not big enough for maternity clothes though, it's a good idea :-) one of the catalogues (jojo?) sells a set of expanders, they're just buttons with a triangle of material so you can wear your normal trousers for a few months. i used a hairband on my jeans for a while too.
i've bought my maternity clothes from ebay mostly. i did get one pair of jeans from mothercare, then realised they were much cheaper on ebay. i bought stuff from dorothy perkins, next, etc. off ebay too but it was never the correct size. at least my mothercare sells maternity so i could try them and make sure they were the correct size. i bought 3 or 4 pairs of jeans/trousers from ebay so i don't really mind if they fall apart. my tops are from ebay too, apart from one my sis got in a sale when she was working in another town. it's a good job my maternity clothes were cheap because i'm ruining them, i am so clumsy i spill food and ice lollies on everything so everything is stained now and can't be resold!52% tight0 -

Lol, I'm the same, everything that falls off my plate, fork or spoon lands on the bump now! I never realised how messy I am until I developed this huge landing area under my boobs. Never mind the baby, I@M the one who needs the bibs!0 -
Hi just thought I might revive this link as didn't want to start a new one. Boots have Tomme Tippee 2-in-1 (microwave/coldwater) sterilisers for £9.99 at the moment, they normally are £19.99. So grab a bargain, as also includes 3 bottles, tongs and brush.:smileyhea:heart: Mrs Lea Nov 5th '11

I bought lots of maternity wear from eBay for my last pregnancy but managed fine in normal clothes till I was 6 mths gone so i didn't wear too much of the maternity gear. I got nursing bras rather than maternity bras as they have a longer life and luckily I didn't get much bigger anyway - only one size.
I bought lots of baby clothes from car boot sales as the new born stuff is practically brand new anyway and a fraction of the price. So my little one had far too many clothes at between 20p and £1 and item!!
I kept all my maternity wear for another pregnancy but now I am finding a problem. I am smaller than I was before my last pregnancy but I am growing faster with this bump. So basically this means that my maternity wear is too big but normal clothes are not comfortable! I don't want to buy any more because it is frustrating that this lot doesn't fit but if I do give in then I will go for eBay again. I will just sell the stuff that is too big for me!!
As for the bras, I kept those too but to be honest, they aren't going to last for this one too as I am smaller so they aren't supportive enough being too big. So I am on a nursing bra hunt now (why am I not getting an expanding chest? huh - typical and not fair!!). For the pregnancy I have bought 2 bras from matalan - cotton non-underwire and to be honest they are pretty nice for the £3.50 i paid for them!3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!
