    That's school though.

I don't think the breakfast club at our school would follow up - not in a morning.

They bring an up to date list to the playground when they pick up the children after school and escort them to the club, and yes they'd ring around/check with staff if a child was on their list but didn't appear to be in the playground, but in the morning I reckon they would just assume that the child wasn't coming. Drop-off times can be so varied anyhow ... so it could be 90 minutes or more before the 'child not in school' procedures kicked into place.

That's the parent's decision though, whether or not to trust their child to go through the door. I don't trust mine to make his own way to school, but if he were dropped off at the gates I would.
Does your breakfast club allow a child to make their own way there? ours doesn't, so there doesn't need to be a procedure in place for a missed child at Breakfast club. In Janepigs case, any child making their own way to it has the potential for them to not get to destination and it not be discovered until school morning register is taken.

Meri the vast majority of kids with SEN or AEN are NOT chaperoned if a taxi is provided by their LEA . It's not deemed needed and is very expensive.

I can only comment on what happens in MY area and my DDs area. It is very rare for a child to be awarded the 'taxi' and two or three of them will 'Share' the taxi and chaperone. It may well be totally different in your area.

I have no idea but I'll ask somebody who uses it.

Children are booked in to ours, it's not a drop-in when you feel like it thing. It's run by an outside nursery.

If it were a drop-in, then like with school, parents wouldn't know whether their child had gone into the building or not until they got a call some time after morning registration.
