Wow Bountyhunter that's one hell of a saving you've made there. I'd be very proud of thatOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

I think I'm actually going to do it this month and have some money left from the grocery budget
I have £55 left and just one weeks shopping to get and I don't have much to get this weekOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

As I came into the challenge, and MSE, mid-month, I haven't done it properly this month, but I have managed to cut the shopping cost down by two thirds. I shall work out a proper new budget for the whole of June and then try and stick to that.
This week's shopping challenge may go a bit pear-shaped as I'll be buying a few things to take with us camping, and a few things to leave for my parents who're house/cat sitting.
We normally try to find a supermarket locally while we're away (and since the Foot & Mouth epidemic we've tried to remain loyal to the British tourist industry), so I'll only have to take enough fresh stuff for a day or so. And Mom and Dad like to get their own things in or eat out.
That means it might not be that bad. But I might not be able to do that well either.spendy/she/her ***DEBT-FREE DATE: 11 NOVEMBER 2022!*** Highest debt: £35k (2006) MY WINS: £3,541 CASH; £149 Specsavers voucher; free eye test; goody bag from Scottish Book Trust; tickets to Grand Designs Live; 2-year access to Feel Amazing App (worth £100); Home Improvement & Renovation Show tickets; £50 to spend on chocolate; Harlem Globetrotters tickets; Jesus Christ Superstar tickets + 2 t-shirts; Guardians of the Galaxy goody bag; Birmingham City v Barnsley FC tickets; Marillion tickets; Dancing on Ice tickets; Barnsley FC v Millwall tickets0 -
OK... so who's going to shoot you if you don't make whatever target figure you had in mind?
You're missing the point a bit. Saving on your budget releases money that you might otherwise have wasted(?) to be used for something else.
Yes, that something could be a savings account, but equally that something could easily be "stuff for a camping trip" or "stuff for my parents"...
You're obviously down on previous spending and that's great. So sit back and reap the benefits. After all these new spends would once have been surplus to your normal budget - now you'll get your shopping and this and still be under previous spending.

Since Spendaholic is going away on holiday (have a nice one, Spendy!) she won't be around to take part in the poll for the description, can she leave a vote with Squeaky or Galtizz?
edtited - I should really have put this in the coffee shop, but with the holiday being mentioned by Spendy it just occured to me that there might be a few people away0 -

Awe, thanks Squeaky. That's made me feel quite a lot better.
I suppose I wasn't beating myself up about it, though. I was just disappointed that I wouldn't be able to continue the good work. And it IS good work. BUT I can easily postpone the good work until we get back. I'm happy to do that if they are - but it might not be allowed. But if it is, my vote is still for 24.
And thanks - we're off to Robin Hood's Bay and I'm taking some pirate history books with me to read ... er, if we ever sort out this new caravan lark.spendy/she/her ***DEBT-FREE DATE: 11 NOVEMBER 2022!*** Highest debt: £35k (2006) MY WINS: £3,541 CASH; £149 Specsavers voucher; free eye test; goody bag from Scottish Book Trust; tickets to Grand Designs Live; 2-year access to Feel Amazing App (worth £100); Home Improvement & Renovation Show tickets; £50 to spend on chocolate; Harlem Globetrotters tickets; Jesus Christ Superstar tickets + 2 t-shirts; Guardians of the Galaxy goody bag; Birmingham City v Barnsley FC tickets; Marillion tickets; Dancing on Ice tickets; Barnsley FC v Millwall tickets0 -

Awkard that one... hm... I certainly have no intention of voting on my own behalf since I'm an interested party.
But I only have one vote available so could only vote as a proxy for one other person. Which would then be unfair to others who are unable to vote.
Much as I'd like to oblige I can't, in all good conscience, agree to do so.

It's up now. We decided that since there were no more new entries to set up the poll so it crosses two weeks which might clash a little less with holidays. It's timed for a run of one week.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
