  • Ali, you're welcome x

Skinny- What is this word rest that you talk of? I do not know this? :rotfl:

Went with my pal and her Mum into my other friends to make up the buffet. Asked my pal's mum to hold the cakes in the back of the car and she dropped them !!! Gutted !! all squished now:(. I still put them onto the cup cake stand but I am so annoyed as they looked fab and now just look bleugh !! Never mind. They'll taste nice and no-one died after all. Humph

Spent £3 in church and £3.20 at shop yesterday on icing sugar, cold meat and margarine.

So I have wedges and sausage rolls home with me to cook and take back in with me to my friends and we will have a nice wee get together. This friend has a beautiful home and she has put up a gazebo out the back and Canadian bunting everywhere. It looks great. She is a total clean freak as well so it's always immaculate. Just like mine .................NOT !!

So I am just making some sausage for DS and I then I will get ready and head back in. Hope you are all having a nice relaxing Sunday xx

  • PLMBL they looked not too bad once on the buffet table and the boy was very happy with them :D

Spent £40 on petrol but my friend gave me £5. I also was £10 towards dollars for my friends son. Great wee evening. Just dropped off 2 drunk friends. Wouldn't want to be them in the morning . At least I will have a clear head as I just drank tea and diluting juice.

We were talking about our wee trip in May and my pal was saying that her and my other friend were going away in September with their hubbies and did I want to come. I said yes . I will get the money together somehow. I just feel that now the kids are both going to higher education and are no longer interested in going away with me then it's time for me to have a life and I am going to grab it with both hands :D

So am now watching extreme couponing :D

  • Evening folks. I picked up my click and collect shopping tonight and I'm slightly annoyed. I had ordered small Easter eggs for my staff as I have already got them chocolate bunnies from Aldi but I had ordered 6 larger eggs for various friends and family. The big ones were 3 for £10 and they have substituted a quality street egg for a roses one which means I don't get the offer and I have paid £5 more . I'm going to e-mail them as this is not on. I only bought them as they were on offer.

Still a good bargain mind you as top line price was £ 102.25 and I ended up paying £61.55 :D. I'll get the other £5 back as well as it's a bit annoying. Most folks would just let it go but hey !! I'm a moneysaver :money:.

Slow cooker is on with 16 sausages and 2 packs of stewing steak. Smell is awesome. I just put in the gravy 5 minutes ago and will leave it for another 30 minutes or so and then put it into dishes for the freezer. My kids both love stew and this is as cheap as chips as I got all of it for about £10.50 including the veggies and stock. So works out about £1.20 per portion which is very good for a steak dinner.

Spent £2.15 in work on a baked potato. I had soup with me but I had the munchies and was scared I would eat rubbish so I had to stuff my face with free food.

    Been an expensive weekend xx

Great saving on your Asda shop and certainly complain about the Eggs debacle. Maybe they'll say keep it and refund the difference - that's a win-win I'd be happy with :D. Still to get Easter Eggs here - will look at the Ald! bunnies tomorrow night I think when I do the weekly shop.

Ooh your stew sounds yummy, hadn't thought of mixing sausage and steak. I had a leftover stew pot from the freezer yesterday, yum yum!

Well done on the healthy eating today :T

  • Ali, e-mail has been sent to ASDA so we will see what happens. The stew was delicious. I had thrown some garlic into it along with stock pots for flavour and we all wolfed it down with mounds of mash.

So another wee 1lb off tonight. Not great but I am all motivated again. 7 weeks to go until holidays so I can do a bit more before then. Need to get out walking. Weather is getting much better so I might start that soon.

Spent £5 on slimming club tonight, £2 on magazine and £5 on new recipe book. We really do use the recipes so I am happy to buy the books. The food looks fab in them.

Going to take sweet potato soup with me tomorrow. Banana and yogurt for breakfast and a couple of cereal bars for snacks. Peri peri chicken for dinner with slimming world wedges or chips I reckon. Am hungry just thinking about it.

No other spends today so not too bad. I'll need to order some chicken and some fruit and veg from my wee delivery man but I'll do that for Thursday night.

Heading to bed soon as I am shattered. 1 load of wash to hang up as I sorted out DS's wardrobe tonight and I have tonnes of extra washing . Messy little minger.

Happy to lend you a dog to aid the walking :D. Would you like a springer who runs about 4 miles whilst I walk 2 (usually we reunite 30 mins later across a field), or a labradoodle that bounces on the spot and then toodles along beside until she's had enough and starts walking towards home :rotfl:. Never a dull moment with those two!

Well done on the weight loss, a 1lb is a 1lb and better off than on :T

You are making me hungry reading that too! Sounds fab. Menopause for me means healthy stuff as well - apple and wholemeal toast for brekkie, doing chicken thighs with cous cous, baked mushrooms, tomatoes and onions for dinner tomorrow night. Trouble is I then have sour cream and chives with it :rotfl:

Come on Mr A, get your Easter finger out and sort :D

  • Sorted Ali. They phoned me today and money refunded into my account with no need to go into the store :D. I'm well impressed.

£25 into my account today from lottery win so I paid it straight off of the CC.

Ended up taking tinned spaghetti for lunch and when I came in tonight the chicken was still frozen so we ended up with corned beef hash and beans for dinner. It was delicious and months and months since we have had that so it went down a treat. I'll cook the chicken later when it is defrosted. My niece is coming for a sleepover tomorrow so I have promised her spag bol so chicken will need to wait and be eaten another day.

Only spend today was £2.70 in local shop for potatoes and cold meat.

My case for my holidays has arrived and it is smashing. Also DS's new clothes have come and everything is really nice. He is very pleased.

I have just over £200 to do me the rest of the month :eek:More than usual mind you :rotfl: However my social life is nuts over the next couple of months. Great on one hand but financial disaster on the other.

I am out on Friday for a meal and that'll be at least £50. Next weekend I have a 50th birthday party. The following weekend I am heading to the ballet with DD. Tickets are bought but I will end up forking out for dinner. I have an 18th the following week. A first communion week after and a beer festival week after that. Then I have Murcia :eek:

Oh and DD birthday on 20th April and my friend's Mum's 70th on 22nd. DD has most of her pressie and taking friend's Mum for vintage afternoon tea with her DD and I for her birthday. So my belt will need to be tightened now to choking stages ,

Oh I forgot about child benefit which will be another £60 so it might be doable. I got an ALDI £5 off in the Sun today so I will keep that for next week and get some shopping Monday or Tuesday.

So all in all lots to buy and loads of places to go. I'll need to be quite imaginative with gifts etc to keep them at a minimum.

You socialite MiT..or dirty stop out :rotfl: ;) . All sounds brilliant to me.

A social life can be so expensive though we've become a very British circle of friends who drink tea and chat - even for big occasions! Tonight's 18th birthday party for nephew was tea and cake at DB's and niece's engagement is drinks at DB's on Sunday.

Ooh, child benefit got an increase in the budget I believe - by about 20p a week I think, still better than nothing though.

Fab result on Mr A as well. :T

Ah, missed the Ald! voucher. Damn - what value was it? The usual £5 off £40 spend?
