Do You Have A Roast Dinner Each Sunday?

We don't treat Sundays any differently from any other day. We don't have meat anyway (can't face the idea of cooking it, and Mr LW likes us to cook together) but I don't do anything special. We just eat what we fancy/what's in the fridge/freezer.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

I have a mutiny on my hands when I suggest something other than a roast dinner lol.
I shall read this thread with interest.
Don`t suggest it then.....just give them something different and say you `forgot` it was Sunday.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

OH rather expects some kind of special meal on Sundays and I suppose it is nice, but I'm so bored with eating the same stuff all the time, plus I find roasts a lot of work and washing up.
Do you always have a roast on a Sunday? If not, what sort of things do you have (with recipes please).
Duck (or game in season) makes a lovely change from the main roasts.0 -
One of the easiest ways to have a trouble free roast is: chicken leg each, halved or quartered potatoes depending on size, carrots, parsnips, onions (whole), season and drizzle with good oil and roast at about 180c for about an hour...no hassle and one dish to wash...

Not that he's fussy or anything, but OH will only eat breast meat :rolleyes: or I'd be able to do lots more things as I could use thighs and legs. But he absolutely won;t eat them.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

If you make a curry or pies with the rest of the meat, he won't be able to tell the difference!
My son thinks he only likes the breast meat, but he thinks my curries and pies are delicious!0 -

Oh yeah, I use it in risotto or pasta, but I mean if I cooked a dish made with thighs he wouldn;t eat it.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Hi Kitty
On a Sunday, I usually do sausage and mash, a mini roast (one chicken breast with loads of veg and trimmings) or beef casserole.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

I have to say that we just have whatever we feel like - not often I get around to doing a 'proper Sunday roast dinner'.
When I do, it's more likely than not Roast Chicken and then s-t-r-e-t-c-h it out for a few days :rotfl:.
Have been known, on occasions, to just have soup and crusty bread for lunch with sarnies for the evening meal - depending on what we're doing for the day.
