Thanks for reopening the thread, Andrea.MSE_Andrea wrote: »By all means express your thoughts on why you feel this would be detrimental to the forum. We’re happy to hear genuine, well-formed objections.
Are you though? Myself and others have already stated some objections, but your reply pretty much suggests MSE will either ignore them, or just wait for things to die down.0 -
So basically if you don't like it then 'leave' - nice!!!0

Everything on here is either a picture or a text!!!! The point being made was that posters were posting text, and on the Twitter feed it's not only their text that is being quoted but it is also being associated with their MSE username - and that maybe THAT breached the MSE T&C.
Anyway, another question. Can MSE Andrea confirm that nothing from protected boards (eg Discussion Time) will reappear as a quote or reference on the Twitter feed?:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls
MSE: many of the benefits of a helpful family, without disadvantages like having to compete for the tv remoteProud Parents to an Aut-some son

Can MSE clarify the MSE T&Cs regarding the users copyright, the license that users grant to MSE, and the license MSE grants to Twitter.
If the MSE T&Cs permit the transfer of users post text to Twitter, do the MSE T&Cs need to be more clear?

What are you saying "wouldn’t be considered copyrightable" regarding the quotation of usernames and text?
a) A username, because it is text?
b) text?
c) both usernames and text?

I refuse to follow the twitter and facebook herds so only viewed this thread out of curiosity as it is not a 'grabbit' and not been moved as everything else would have been.
Firstly, I think the heading should be renamed as 'the grabbits are on twitter, do you want to join us? (Though I doubt this would be considered by MSE).
This would then make forum members more aware of the situation, ask questions, gather the facts and give them a choice of whether they wish to continue posting and in what manner.
I agree with alot of the comments already made. I also feel that the 'grabbits' were ruined when they were moved to different areas of MSE - the whole 'Tesco' debacle etc.
Since then the grabbits (for me) have become a cursory glance of the first two pages, then over to hotukdeals to find any real deals - I find it too time-consuming and confusing to have to search through several different boards for the 'grabbits' and deals or wade through the 'elite' thread created in its aftermath. (I never did understand the difference between 'shop don't drop' and 'I wanna buy it now' but that may just be me).
Sadly I think MSE is going the same way as Ebay - starting off as something for the community which was then sustained by contributions from that community but a whole different story now.
Change is inevitable, it's just how it is carried out that can make a difference to success or failure.
I think the 'family' is grown up and starting to go its separate way ............0 -
The weekly emails as you say include links back to the original thread or otherwise give the original poster credit. This should in all fairness be mandatory on Twitter. Where a deal is taken from a forum poster and posted on Twitter, it should not be solely under the MSE Twitter banner but credit given to OP as in the emails.0

Completely agree with this. Threads getting moved/merged/posts getting deleted etc...things have definitely changed, and in my opinion, not for the better.
Surely the majority - or at least a decent percentage - preferred the old system on this forum?0 -
I stopped reading the Grabbit board after several "supposed" bargains at Tesco only to discover nowt.
Lots of false postings to drum up trade.0
