so basically you are going to see deals here that other people post then copy them over there and take the credit. That's not very nice at all

I really don't like MSE's ethics (or rather lack of) these days.

I know of someone who did just this then sold his company and made millions!

    Well said :T

Personally I thought the tone of the post by the Wings of Ambition* was extremely rude, threatening, unwarranted and frankly out of order. Even worse because they are a 'representative' of MSE in a way. Personally I think MSE should be considering a reprimand for this, or at least a removal of the post.

    * Although I must admit I didn't even know they were a board guide until they said because I've never seen them doing any board guiding work on here before!

Or reporting or contributing to any glitches

My post has been chopped and edited by the Forum Team to remove the apparently offending parts. I apologise for the language used, but my sentiment remains exactly the same - growing our community, even if it be by the apparent evil of Twitter, is a good thing.

Quite frankly, I found it offensive to see some of the members on this thread claiming that MSE starting a Twitter feed is "out of order", "slave labour", "biting the hand that feeds them" and "blatant plagiarism", that the MSE team have a lack of ethics (where do I even start on that one!?!?!), that the twitter feed would be the end of the site, that Martin "sold out", that MSE should be paying minimum wage to the FM's doing work on their behalf, and that the site wouldn't last 5 minutes if they had to find their own deals. I find all of these statements to be disrespectful... one could say that the posters are "biting the hand that feeds them".

Regarding BG's opinions, all BG signatures state that opinions are our own, not those of the site. As for my BG work, bodacious and izzeyb, I don't post glitches because I have no interest in them, and just because I work in the background doesn't mean I don't work.

Let's not forget that you've only just added the sig though ;)

I stand by what I said in an earlier post. If the new Twitter feed is designed to link back to deals on this forum, then it isn't a problem, imo.

But if the feed is to tweet deals found on here, but link directly to external websites (with referral links), then it's out of order as it is clearly taking advantage.

No wonder there is a lack of grabbits being posted by the likes of claire21.

Chastised but clearly not repentant, I see.

Thank goodness an attitude like yours isn't commonplace.

Can I suggest that a board guide now moves this 'discussion' over to the site feedback forum where it clearly belongs.
    Hmmmmmmm

Thats why I asked as I was confused last night cos you didn't have a sig saying you were a board guide and I know I've seen redfox with a sig saying pretty much what yours says now. I'd comment more but wannasave has summed it up nicely.

Not chastised: apart from Forum Team editing my post, nothing has been said. I've already apologised for the language used, but if you're expecting me to apologise for my stance of sticking up for site... ain't gonna happen! :rotfl:

Why bother? It's not as though the MSE Forum Team actually bother reading & responding to the threads on there ... I started one about this issue two days ago when MSE Andrea didn't answer questions regarding the change on the thread in Families etc.

" and quite frankly, the paid staff have bigger fish to fry than finding out how to get two quid off a mispriced bottle of shampoo at Tesco."

I find this comment by wings of ambition very belittling to be honest. I thought this forum was all about saving money? Two quid off a bottle of shampoo makes a big difference to me thank you very much!

I used to love this forum, visited regularly, and tried my best to contribute by posting deals and bargains i had found. Recently i have noticed that there are few new posts...why is that?...Where has everyone gone?....What has changed that people do not like?....A question the forum team need to address i think.....

I would like to know...if i post a grabbit on this forum, will it be put on twitter?
