Thank you for setting things out so succinctly zzzLazyDaisy. The firm's card had been firmly marked back in the summer when two of its number pleaded guilty at a Solicitors' Disciplinary Hearing (albeit a somewhat historical matter). The SRA had had numerous complaints regarding GW Solicitors involvement with Roxburghe's and Roxburghe's themselves remain under OFT supervision and investigation. One wonders whether the two issues are in some way connected?
Both supped from Roxburghe's poisoned chalice? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Makes you wonder whether Roxy were just supplied with letter headed paper and churned it out themselves - it seems that's what they did with GW; leopards don't change their spots.
It might be important that we closely check out any new threads here relating to the Roxy/GPB axis to see if any GPB letters are dated on or after 9th October 2013.
If they are, that will prove a point, then it's got to be mega complaint time in regard to Roxy. All starting to unravel perhaps now? The final curtain? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. :TThanks to everyone else who made complaints to the SRA and CSA Financial about these sharks.
The CSA did reply to me stating the compliant was too serious for them to investigate and would be passed to the SRA immediately along with their "very serious" concerns , I know many others made the same complaints including two of you who PM,d me for details of how, so great team work everyone on all forums, you know who you are.
Special thanks to Daisy, she put the bee in the bonnet about how to complain.Be happy...;)0 -
The letter templates between gpb and gw are exactly the same down to the £207.25p demanded and the breakdown is exactly the same.
Prankster has put his oar in as well

Daisy what happens to claims under their name now? We have seen I'm sure claims since their closure, are those unlawful? My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
Prankers has been a bit previous in claiming that the solicitors have been struck off. They have not been struck off. This action is more by way of an intervention that the company has been suspended while disciplinary matters are investigated. They have 'reason to suspect dishonesty' not proof e.g. a court conviction. The actual solicitors involved if found to be guilty may then be disciplined by the SRA & punishment could be as severe as a reprimand or a £2,000 fine according to the SRA press release. If it is decided that a stiffer punishment is required, the SRA will prosecute the matter at the independent Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT). The SDT can levy fines of more than £2,000 and is the only body that can order a solicitor be removed from the Roll.

The battle is far from over, however, let it be said, demanding monies that have been judged to be illicit penalties and using incorrect court procedures are an insult to the Bar.
Acting outside rights of audience in making claims as a third party without any direct contract from the land title holder is also very bad practice.
Any solicitor firm who gets in to bed with these crooks will get everything they deserve and get it you will.
What these parking firms do is a abuse, if you want to represent them, then expect to be reported for your misdemeanant acts, for you can not act unlawfully as a solicitor and expect to get away with it.
Nor will you, make no mistake about that.
Parking Charge notices are illicit penalties, they are in odds with proven and well tested case law, ignoring case law is an abuse of the Bar.
Lay with dogs, you will have fleas.Be happy...;)0 -
