Naked Delivery from Tesco!

My local store (Gatwick) just leave the crates and pick them up on the next delivery. Four are being used for under-bed storage and the ones that really are going back
go under the stairs or out the back.

I also had a mammoth Tesco shop delivered last night without bags. Fantastic! SO much quicker than unwrapping all those needless, ridiculous carrier bags.
I'll definitely be doing it again.0 -
Yep, had mine almost bagless yesterday. I asked the driver how she found it - a nightmare she said. They are only given 1 minute extra for the delivery, and she was none too pleased about being asked to carry the crates through to my kitchen. Not sure if she would have refused if I wasn't 39 weeks pregnant!0

Just had my second bagless delivery of weekly shopping (extra 6 green points) and I have to say that Tesco (Slough) have really great drivers. They deliver on time, arrive at the door with the crates, bring them through to my kitchen and off they go.
I retain the crates until the following delivery where they do it all again and they then collect the crates from the week before.
Drivers are always polite (which is probably more than can be said for the customers that they have to contend with) and I have to say that if husband is not around the are always more helpful in ensuring that I dont have to lift the crates etc, as they bring all the shopping in to the kitchen and put the crates on to the floor so that they are not stacked. :j
So, stop moaning and finding fault - it is up to us to make this work and show our kids that there is a way of making a difference in recycling and being a bit 'greener'! I am not an eco-warrior just someone who is trying to make a difference no matter how small.0 -
Whilst i do agree that the Tesco pickers do use too many bags, i really cant beleive that some of you people make such a big deal of having a few carrier bags in your house for a week until the next delivery when you can give them back. Is that such a great burden for you?
I would understand if Tesco didnt take them back for recycling and left you to dispose of them yourself, but why it is such a big deal to have a few bags in your house for a week i really dont know!0 -

Well I'm glad its working for some people thenI'm not moaning either, just trying to put the points of the drivers across (most are not happy for the reasons I pointed out in my earlier post) and I know this for a fact. I'm all for trying to be eco friendly but please don't believe Tesco actually care!

I get my Tesco deliveries in green plastic boxes too, but I simply ask the driver to leave the boxes for me to unpack at my leisure and return to him/her when I get my next delivery. then I store the boxes and swap the empties for the full ones next time.

I was quite excited to see that Tesco were now offering this as I always try and take my own bags and it has in the past put me off internet deliveries. The delivery arrived in 28 bags including in one bag just one packet of mozzarella!

If you do a job well, people won't be sure you've done anything at all
Must claim back bank charges!!!:rolleyes:0 -
According to the (very helpful) driver who delivered yesterday, they only get 5 minutes for each delivery. He said they are being asked to time how much longer it takes for the bagless ones, so Tescos are obviously keeping an eye on this.
