Naked Delivery from Tesco!

I agree with Buttercup, was a nightmare trying to unload the boxes with loads of small items as driver is just stood there moaning about how it takes longer for each delivery.
Will defiantley go for bags in future and return them once used.
Feel sure it would be better for a point for every so many bags returned to driver instead of 5 points for a lot of fishing about in boxes to gather yoghurts, tins, packets, jars etc.0 -
Another "green bandwagon" profit maximiser?
They ought to look at themselves to greatly reduce the number of bags used with a little common sense.
I'm not joking here, but our last delivery for a £70 shop involved over 30 carrier bags - some containing just one item like a small box of breakfast cereal, another with a bottle of washing up liquid!
If I drove to tesco for the same shopping, I am confident I would have got all the shopping I'd bought in around 6 or 7 bags - much greener!0 -
I got all excited then too... the prospect off naked delivery drivers!!! I'd be getting my shopping delivered daily!!!:rotfl:
In a delivery I had the other week half my shopping wasn't in bags anyway and in some bags there was only 1 item!
Whichever supermarket introduces nekkid babe delivery drivers gets my business! :rotfl:The man without a signature.0 -
Can't they leave the plastic boxes with you and you return them on the next delivery. they could use the fold down type to save space.0

I'm not at all impressed. Complaint email to Tesco.....
"Selected "bagless delivery". Your site says "your Customer Delivery Assistant will ask you where you would like your shopping to be unloaded.".
This was not the case. The driver dumped the crate in the hall leaving my wife to carry it into the kitchen and unload it (hurting her back in the process). When she got back he was unloading the remainder of the delivery from his crate onto the hall floor. This level of service is not acceptable. What action do you intend to take?"
Their reply....
"Thank you for your email.
Our delivery policy is to deliver to the doorstep, regardless of the location of the property. Drivers are not obliged to offload delivery into customers homes.
I do apologise that you were disappointed with the driver who delivered your order. I hope you will give us another chance to serve you better."
Morons.

Point 6 says they should ask where to unload the shopping. I've emailed them again pointing this out (again).Reading this signature is a waste of time0 -
Point 8: "Will this mean that the Customer Delivery Assistant will have to come in to my home?" also says "No. Your Customer Delivery Assistant will unload your shopping on to your doorstep IF THAT IS WHAT YOU WOULD PREFER" (my emphasis) suggesting that they can and will come into your home if that is what you want. Definitely pursue this further.0

Not sure they have thought this one through! It may save a few bags but the time taken to unload each crate will have a knock on effect to all delveries, I feel for the drivers who are already under enough pressre. Also I'm not sure about drivers entering customers homes. Just imagine how many ipods/phones.... that were on the hall table will go missing (not saying anyone here would do that but believe me it would happen all the time  ) So if the drivers don't actualy go into peoples homes all items will be left on the hall floor, erm no thanks :j :j0

I had my delivery last night bagless. I asked the driver to put the trays in the kitchen and i unloaded. Not a problem, much better in my opinion than bags everywhere. Drivers do have the time to deliver and do the job properly. Why imply that drivers are untrustworthy???

I'm implying that some customers would complain to tesco that things had been stolen (that are unlikely to have existed) hence the comment 'not saying anyone here would do that' not that the drivers can't be trusted but I admit I didn't phrase my post very well! I'm afriad that there are people that do this kind of thing, probably more than you would think. Not only that but what happens if the driver has an accident and drops the red wine, knocks something off a shelf with a crate or walks all over your cream carpet with muddy shoes. And I'm afraid often drivers do not have the time to do the job properly as you put it. Tesco are just putting more & more pressure on the drivers & in my opinion going too far expecting employees to enter customers houses if requested trying to make the public see them as 'Green' and caring for the environment.:j :j0 -
Hi - I've just had my first bagless shopping delivered in the middle of a huge thunderstorm.
Whilst I agree that it does take a while longer to empty the crates its by far better than having a small mountain of plastic bags left once the shop is put away. There is generally enough unnecessary wrapping on food generally without using extra bags, particularly when they put one item in a bag.
However my small dilema will be what do I use to line my kitchen bin with now??Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0
