Correction, the best way to deal with them, is to not open the door.

The second best way to deal with them is, if you do open the door, shut it again, without saying anything.

The trouble with your first method is that generally most people open the door to see who it is. Even if I look through the peephole and see a strange person there, I will not automatically assume it's a window salesman/scam artist and will therefore open the door to see what they want.

If it were a TVL employee, I would then inform them I don't have to nor wish to permit them entry. Or most probably, I'd babble at them in Spanish :rotfl:

My approach is that, 99 times out of a hundred, a cold caller wants to sell me something, which I will not want to buy, hence I don't interact with them.

I don't communicate with them at all.

Instead, I stand looking at them/filming them, in complete silence, until they get bored of talking to/threatening me (this usually takes around 60 seconds), and skulk off, muttering to themselves. :D
