Relationship with Mum

Wow, a lot of this sounds familiar.
I have limited contact with my mum for similar reasons. We can be polite to each other at family gatherings and that's about it. It's a shame it had to be that way, but it did: parenthood does not include the right to hurt your child forever, and sometimes enough really is enough.
Good luck whatever you do, but I believe a decision to put your health, your child and your future first, and to stop a mean, abusive person from being mean and abusive to you, could definitely be an honourable one - even if that may mean she is lonely (awwww, poor her, she has nobody left to abuse).0
