How often do you see members of your family?

I just wanted to post and see if I could get an idea of how often other people see various members of their family, mainly parents and grandparents. I imagine that maybe the situation is different dependent on ages, whether you have children and so on.
I personally have very little time at the moment due to being in my final year of a full-time university course as a mature student (in a city that's 150 miles away) and a part-time job in my home town. I drive the 150 mile journey to my university city, stay over for 2-3 nights a week, then drive the 150 mile journey back and work part-time on the other days. When I have spare time I use it to see my immediate family (siblings and parents) and my (long-term) boyfriend.
My family isn't as big as some people's but due to location and dynamics there aren't really opportunities to see several family members in one go, and so I tend to have to see them all separately. Some relatives comment that me and other members of my family don't see them often enough but I feel like with limited time I have to prioritise immediate family.
So I was just interested to see how often other people see their parents and grandparents (if they still have them) or other family and how they find the time to see them all? If people could include influencing factors such as age/location then that would be helpful!

Sounds like you are the one doing all the running about visiting! As well as commuting to Uni and working. Do none of them visit you? You could have several over at the same time kind of a family get together.
Could you, maybe, invite them for Sunday lunch every couple of months or so? Might be too much work on top of everything else, though.0 -
I live 15 minutes away from my parents and sister & see them at least twice a week if not more.
My grandparents... Not so often. Once a month, one I haven't seen in at least 6 months (we dont get on) and one I saw a month ago. The other one who shows the most interest I saw on Friday.
I work full time, have a puppy & a baby on the way. No excuses tho, there are some family (aunties etc) I need to make more of an effort to visitFirst baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/14

my mum and sis live 90 miles away
dad lives 70 miles away
everyone comes here for kids birthdays we go down to dads in summer and pop in and see aunt lots esp when on the way to see mum and sis all works well for us we all do about the same travelling to see each otherThe only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50 -
My mum & dad are divorced but they live streets apart. I visit them both in the same day, about once every three weeks. I live about 10 miles away and I go on the bus.
My youngest sister lives in Middlesex, we see each other about 4 - 5 times a year, and my middle sister maybe slightly less even though she lives closer (about 20 miles away).
My grandparents are all dead and I don't see aunties/uncles/cousins at all. I don't even know most of them.0 -

My mum - once or twice a week (she lives the other side of town -a 20 minute car journey) . But i'm lucky as I work part time. Though I would always make time for her if my situation was different. My brother lives with her so I see him when he is not at work.
Father in law not so much but he comes to visit my son on days I work. Either after school or for a few hours in the hols.
Other family members - in laws & their siblings - tend to be quite sparse. A few times a year if that. This is mainly due to usually one sided effort to get together.Back on the trains again!0 -

I think my response would be 'yeah, full time at uni plus part time at work and a 300 mile round trip means no time for me. Crazy isn't it? Why don't you pop over on xday/evening and we'll pop to the local for a drink/have a brew and cake/tea and chat?'Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0 -
