I think my worst was when I got some pills through the post with a 'Congrats' comp slip. They were to help with menopause, I think. Apart from anything else, I would never take pills without knowing everything about them from a more reliable source.

It was a pain because I didn't know what to do with them. Obviously I couldn't sell or give them away, and I don't like throwing pills in the bin, because it can have a knock-on effect on the environment. In the end I think I handed them in at the chemist for them to dispose of.

I assume it was a runner up prize, and I had entered hoping to win something else.

BTW, this is a fab thread to read through :T

I agree with you - I once got some diet pills sent to me and didn't want to take them as I had never heard of the brand and couldn't remember entering to win them. I just binned them as I didn't know what else to do with them. I dread to think what might have happened if they had been dodgy and I had taken one - maybe I would have grown a tail or horns!
:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea
  • I am laughing so hard at this! I did win some vouchers from a well known clothes company that I had to chase up. I dealt with the PR guy who I googled and he was only 19. After many emails to and fro and UNBELIEVABLE excuses I finally gave him a deadline or I would report the matter to his bosses who I also googled. He replied immediately and said the vouchers would be send by registered post. I recieved them the next day accompanied with a gift receipt that had obviously been paid for with his own bank card (and why would the vouchers need to be bought by the company anyway?). My daughter was convinced that he had spent them himself and then panicked. I agree re starting a thread for the worst companies who don't live up to their promises.
Thanks to all of you for posting the competitions! Really appreciate it. :lovethoug

Ive had a fair few bad prizes but the worst two have to be a baby onesie and a bag purse and scarf set.

I won the baby oneside that was preselected size and design but i wasnt bothered as i liked them all and with a baby nephew on the way any size would have been good. It arrived and it was a brown bear one. I looked at the size and it says 6-9 months but it looked huge!! I left the room and returned to my 3 year old daughter (thats average size for her age) sat wearing the bear onesie and it was still big on her round the waist and body but the legs stopped at her knees! (it was massive there too!) on further inspection the zip wasnt straight and the hems were all loose!

The other was a bag from kaleidoscope. It looked nice on the comp picture but it arrived and the stitching was all loose and not straight. My daughter now plays dressing up with it lol
  • I won a lipstick off a blog a few months ago. The colour looked lovely something I would wear. I took ages to come, and it was a completely diffrent colour!. It was vile like a real neon pale lilac, would look right at home on somebody like Nicky minaj. Think I would have got some rather odd looks on the scholl run!. I did email her to ask where was the original, she said I HAD the right shade!! I gave up then, know I wasn't going to get the original shade. It's now gathering dust somewhere. Glowing in the dark lol
Thank you to all the posters

Good luck to all the compers.:T

A few years ago I'd taken a bag of clothes into the local Oxfam shop and they were doing a raffle with some nice little prizes (handbag, M&S voucher, scarf and gloves set among others.
I was pleased to receive a phone call a few days later to say I had won a prize but when I went to pick it up I was stunned. It was a wire holder thing that held 6 liqueur glasses, no problem there but the glasses were not only different designs but also different sizes and makes.
    It was very quickly re-donated.
I also enetered a comp for a new bathroom and won a runners up prize of a toilet seat. The seat did come in handy a bit later when mine broke but I was a bit disappointed not to win the bathroom.

I won a photoshoot once that was supposed to be worth about £500. The thing was only for a one hour shoot and one small framed pic too (interesting valuation, but hey). I was properly HOUNDED by the people to book in for months, and eventually caved in. After lots more phonecalls in the run up to the day, I got ridiculously scared at the hard sell, and ended up paying £25 short-notice to cancel the appointment and asked them never to contact me again :/
