  • I have IBS. When I need to go...its gotta happen!

It doesn't bother me what guests do ...But my brother always has to go when he is here and will spend a good old 20 minutes in there. And he will at least spray air freshener!
Is more awkward for guest really as its right opposite our lounge door, and the walls are thin!

  • I think some people's bowel proficiency hasn't progressed much beyond toddler stage. A small child doesn't have much warning that they need to go but an adult with normal bowel functionality can most certainly 'train' themselves to go at home at fairly regular times. So barring a stomach bug (in which case you shouldn't be out visiting other people) or IBS/Crohns, I've never understood it when people say 'when you've got to go, you've got to go'.

If you're staying overnight with people, then you probably will need to go at some point but I'd find it a bit much if they were just popping by for a visit.

It also annoys me when people at work have gone for a poo as soon as they arrive, stinking the place out, I don't need that to wake me up, coffee does that! Also, surely it would be better to go before showering/bathing in the morning?

I openly admitted it was a weird thing to be annoyed by. Does no one else get annoyed for silly reasons? I can tell by the smell afterwards and yes, there is air freshener in there. I've got issues I guess because I don't like going away from home but other people aren't bothered by such inconsequential things.

I would never poo in someone else's house unless I had an upset stomach.

I only poo in my own house, or my parents house.

If someone needs the loo then they need the loo. It wouldn't bother me, as long as they cleaned up any mess on the pan and sprayed air freshener afterward.

Is this a normal occurrence?! I don't recall anyone using my bathroom in this way in a day visit! :s

See, I wouldn't have thought so but it's happened to me the last two times we had day visitors!

This is exactly what I've trained myself to do. Much more hygienic and you don't have to worry about finding a toilet when out and about.
  • Worst nightmare is staying at other people's houses - I'm a late to bed, early to rise person and there's nothing worse than being out of sync with your hosts, sat for endless hours in your room so you won't wake anyone up.

If people stay with me, I make sure I'm up before them, so they know they won't disturb me and I can offer them breakfast.

If I stay in a hotel/B&B I'd rather pay extra to have my own room so I can do what I like, when I like.

If you're visiting someone all day it could well be necessary for them to need the toilet.

Really, well done to you. Not everyone is as regular.

My bathroom is quite nice. Maybe people want to live the dream by using it?
