    Evening all,

Only my second post in here but I thought I'd post an update and ask some questions :D

I've had my fertility appointment today and I have been prescribed provera which I'm to take to induce AF (I'm terrified it makes me feel physically sick just thinking about it) I think because I'm not used to it and it hurt so much the last time :(

Anyway after starting AF I'm to count the first day of this as CD1? (Is this right by what you ladies do?) the. On CD2-6 I'm to take 50mg of Clomid.

I'm excited slightly at the prospect of starting this but also the AF thing scares the hell out of me (sorry for being such a baby!!! And no I'm not even kidding!)

Then I'm to go for a blood test on CD21... My question is should I buy thos ovulation sticks? The doctor didn't mention them and I forgot to ask :D

Also, I'm quite angry at the doctor my BMI was charted as 29.1 last time and this time, I'm a size 14 and I'm 5ft7 I'm completely happy with the way I look but I've been told to immediately lose weight  I know, I know it's not perfect for a BMI but I guess it's another thing to add to my list to do...

Sorry I think I'm just rambling now

Hi sweetpotato. The first day of AF is indeed CD1. CD21 blood tests can be difficult because that's based on a 28 day cycle with a 14 day lp, so what they really mean is 7dpo blood tests. This is where ovulation sticks will come in handy. It doesn't need to be the expensive ones. You can get them cheaply from ebay or amazon. Oh and don't be scared. Periods aren't so bad.

As for the BMI thing, I wish they'd stop using that crappy tool.

Slinky, glad it went well at the doctors.

    AFM, CD1 so... :(

Thanks for coming out of "Lurk-dom" for me!!! :j

Glad its not just me - I (embarassingly!) was all excited that I would be getting a little solid smiley, as a new graduate of the flashy smiley! So a bit disappointed that I havent got one yet! Fingers crossed for a solid one tomorrow MORNING (must remember.. I am NOT a morning person!) If I can't get a BFP I want at least a BFS (Big fat Smiley!)
If you've started doing them in the arvo I would recommend continuing to do so. Your lh level (the hormone it's picking up) varies through the day naturally anyway, so continuing with the same time of day makes more sense than changing to the morning now. The reason the cheap ones say later in the day (from what I recall) is because your lh is more likely to peak mid morning and be detectable in your pee in the arvo.

Personally, having been on clomid, don't bother with the ovulation sticks - clomid confuses them half the time anyway. Go on cd21 (cd1 is the first day of full flow, not spotting, which you may get a fair bit of on Provera) for your blood test, regardless of when you think ovulation was, while on clomid as it's a better test of how well the drug is working for you. Be prepared for side effects (but not scared of, it becomes self fulfilling prophesy) from both drugs - and found (along with other ladies on here) that the side effects can increase the more cycles you're on clomid.

There's another thread on this forum for ladies who've been trying longer than 12 months/have specific issues with conceiving - they will be a wealth of knowledge about these drugs, what you can elect, and any next steps too.

HTH and that clomid works for you. (I got my BFP on the cycle after coming off it)

    Welcome to the newbies.
  • Morning all!

Welcome to Pinkeymel and anyone else I've missed.

It does sound like a lot of you are struggling at the minute so I'd like to send you all a big hug and lots of love. I hope today is a better one for those having a hard time.

Things are good for me atm, operation BD still going strong. I'm a bit worried as I haven't had any CM. I just hope this isn't going to be an anovulatory cycle.

I can handle trying and failing (it's only cycle 2 TTC for us so I daren't even hope we'd be that lucky!) but I would hate to not even have a chance. I know a lot of you ladies struggle with naughty cycles and I never really understood how terribly hard that must be. I was always very regular when I was young, but since coming off bc I don't know what to expect. I guess I just wanted to say respect to those struggling with their cycles.

And just to lighten the mood a bit, my bum muscles hurt today and I'm not sure if it's from my out of practice running or from all the humping!!
