Hi everyone, I hope this is the right place to post. DH and I are planning to start TTC in about a month's time and I'm planning to stock up on some ovulation tests and hpts (trying to learn your acronyms!), just wondering where's the best place to buy to get reliable but cheap ones? Saw on another site someone recommended homehealth-uk.com, they seem cheap for hpts but not sure if their price for ovulation tests is good. Looking for midstream ones.

Also, a lot of the apps and websites that I've looked at where you track your cycle seem to ask for your AF length, but only go up to 8 or 10 days. Mine have lasted over 2 weeks for the last 2 years whilst I've had the implant in. Sometimes 3 weeks. How on earth do I track this?? :o I've got no idea what my cycle is but I remember even with no hormonal contraceptives my periods have always been annoyingly long and frequent.

I bought ovulation tests off amazon...but they are not midstream ones, they were ones you dip. I prefer that though as I find it easier! Not sure if have seen midstream ov tests anywhere? I also bought some from Boots, but they were considerably more expensive than the Amazon ones.

I used Fertility Friend to track my cycle and I don't think it asked for the length of AF. You just put it in the days that you are bleeding. When I was on the pill mine could last 2 weeks but amazingly when I came off it they went down to about 8 days. Maybe that will happen for you? Anyway, try Fertility Friend if you can because I don't think it asks for your normal AF length.

    Good luck! :)

Thanks daisiegg. How many ovulation tests am I likely to get through per month? Have no idea how many to order.

Depends how long your cycle is, so it is hard to say. I would be surprised if you need more than 10 in a month, but I may be wrong! Completely depends on your cycle length. Sorry! Maybe making sure you have 20 to begin with might be on the safe side.
  • Good afternoon all.
So sorry to hear of your loss Mrs TM. x
    Welcome mouthscradle.
I feel a little strange down below. I can only assume AF is slowly on its way. I'm scared it's going to be heavy and painful for me this first time.
    Take care all. X

Massive massive hugs Mrs TM, make sure that you look after yourself at the moment

Welcome to the newbies - I also use the opks from amazon I initially bought a pack of 50 thinking I would never need them all but probably a better investment...have gone on to buy another 50 - hopefully you will be luckier in getting a bfp though

Hugs for all those on CD1

Just did something I never thought I'd have to do, and I hope I never have to do again, for anyone. Just removed myself from the thread graduates list and put myself back onto the trying list. How long do we need to wait to start trying again? We will be using the ntnp method if that helps.
