Thanks for all the advice everyone - will look into some different lube, we have just been using a bottle of Balance Activ Conceive - it lasted about a week and wasn't very good at all, so we were planning on going back to Sensilube but will reconsider now and probably go with Conceive + now.

After doing an Ovulation test on Saturday that was very nearly positive, I did one yesterday that wasn't anywhere near as dark. I'm a little confused now - does that mean I've ovulated? Should I do another test today?

FF has me down as ovulating tomorrow/Christmas Day/Boxing Day.

Daisie last month I tested at about 2DPO, I was feeling really tired and off colour and my previous AF had been shorter than usual so I convinced myself that it wasn't a 'proper' AF and I was probably pregnant :o Needless to say I wasn't, I wasted the last test in the house and decided I wouldn't buy any more to prevent any similar moments of madness! Fingers crossed for you though, 8DPO is still early so you never know x

Wishing you al the best Laila.

Code - I don't have anything useful to advise but just to say I hope next year is better for you, I lurked for a while before posting and you contribute so much to the threads, not just in terms of knowledge but also support and humour, and you really do deserve a break. Hoping 2014 is your year.

  • Evening ladies!

Congrats Ejecoms, what a lovely Christmas present to get :j

Don't think im going to bother with OPK this month, I've either ovulated really early when I had spotting and EWCM around CD11 or I'll be ovulating sometime this week and because we're going to be rarely home this week it would just be too much hassle and stress to try to fit in doing them ( bit difficult to explain that you need to nip to the loo with a cup while you're at the in laws :rotfl: )

Not sure if I'll get on again before Christmas so incase I don't I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

Gave in and tested on a first response this morning, of course BFN :(:( it was what I expected but still had a little cry!

I am now not going to test until af is actually due and just going to try and enjoy this week.

8DPO is still pretty early though? I could still get lucky this month? Don't feel very hopeful though particularly as my skin has broken out which it does before af :( booooooo!

Hope you all have a good day xx

    Delurking to tell you off!

I think the egg implants around 7-10dpo so chances of a positive on 8 is virtually nil! I think fertility friend shows a 10% chance on 10dpo if you are pregnant.

I think this pregnancy I tested on either 11 or 12dpo and I could barely see a line. So even at that stage is recommend a cheap test don't waste first response x
  • Dear All,

Apologies it's so late, I can't quite believe I'm about to type this but we got our BFP about 2 hours ago!!

Long Story, so trimmed version is:

    1. Did pregnancy test earlier this aft, cheapo, thought I wasn't so binned it. Didn't really look properly just got mardy so put in bin.
    2. As I was getting ready for bed, I pulled it out the bin to sulk a bit more when I noticed 2 lines clear as day! Shouted to Husband, he verified lines. Now, by this time it'd been sat in the bin about 7 hours!!
    3. Straight in car to late night Boots, bought digi and another normal pregnancy test. Drove home.
    4. Straight up the stairs with the digi. By which point Husband is saying, it's probably an error etc. Queue longest wait in the world - Digi - 1-2 pregnant.
    5. We fall about about crying in shock!!

In terms of what we did differently: we just did it more frequently and I will admit, I laid back with legs in air sort of, I'm not v flexible!! Turns out FF was spot on though!

We feel like luckiest people in the world tonight, especially with tomorrow being Christmas Eve! Now, just to navigate the 3 festive days and a house party rave on NYE at a friends house!

    Baby Dust to all!!

    Alipops x
