Ladies - I am gettin frustrated now - CD18 and STILL flashy face on CB digi which means surge of estrogen but not the peak solid smiley face which means OV imminent. When you think that i OV'd on CD11 last month I can't honestly believe that this month i would OV on later than CD18?!?!
Which makes me wonder if i A) have a faulty test or B ) I missed OV when I ran out of test sticks... i tested on CD7 (because of early OV/shorter cycle) - negative. Only had 1 test stick left so then waited and tested on CD 10 - again a negative. Got more tests - Tested on CD12 and again negative. Then tested CD 14 - got flashy face which means "high fertility" and should be like that for a couple of days then change to solid smiley meaning peak (OV). So have had high for 4 days now.... no sign of a peak..
So the upshot of this lengthy write up is: I wonder if its more likely that I OV stupid early ie in the few days between CD7 - CD10 when i didn't test.... or more likely that my OV changes SO much that one month it occurs on CD11 and the next month its going to be at LEAST CD19....???
bigmomma - this happens to me sometimes. It's like my body gears up for ov and then can't be bothered releasing the egg so I get almost positive opks for ages and it's incredibly frustrating, then I get stressed and that makes it worse. Do you monitor your cervical mucus or temp at all? Also, I can't remember, but is your cycle regular normally?Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Oh I'm on the list! How exciting! Thank you codemonkey
bigmomma I don't have any wise insights or sensible advice but I hope you figure it out, it sounds very frustrating. I still have no idea when or if I ovulate so will need to sort that out soon!0 -
Thanks for doing the lists code. CD1 for me please. Don't feel too bad about it for some reason (no clue why) but wish this stupid nausea would do one. Nausea that feels like morning sickness, plus period pains at the same time? Please!0

Just to say don't worry about getting a few days of that flashing smiley before a solid.
I got 6 days, and my friend got 8, we both got pg using them.
I know it says on them you get 2 days but if you read the small print it actually only says that for a certain percentage of women & it's normal to get more than 2 days. Gives you more of a warning too!0 -

My cycles are between 26-28 days usually, not much fluctuation from that...
I don't temp or check CM as i know i will get TOO into it and as i am already an OCD sufferer, it will not help me lol... I am bad enough with the tests!
To be honest, i wouldn't mind the whole "taking longer than normal for solid face to appear" stuff if A) I hadn't already now used all but 2 of the bloo*y sticks which at £30 for 10, i cannot afford more this month, so if i havent had smiley by Tuesday, thats it for me testing which will drive me crazy!! Andit hadn't been SO textbook last month - okay, early but textbook as in got flashy face CD9&CD10 then solid on CD11.
Just seems SO different this month.....AND i will be due AF in about 8 days... so if OV doesn't hurry the Hell up, god knows what will happen to my poor brain!Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Hmm that is a bit odd then if your cycles are that length.
I used the expensive opks in conjunction with cheap ones, I got pregnant using the cheap ones too, I just liked the whole warning flashy thing as I had irregular cycles, plus I bought them when they were at a really good price on amazon.
I was rather obsessive too but I found temping helped because it confirmed ov. And cm well you can't really miss it and ewcm was a sure sign for me.
Maybe youre just having a longer cycle - or - you did ovulate and you missed it - ive read people on baby& bump getting gp just from the high & they had no peak.0 -

I have tried the IC and they simply don't seem to work at all for me... so i wondered if the CB would work either but last month, it was tip top!
I have looked out for the whole CM/EWCM business but i just dont "see" any differencePerhaps i just dont know what i am looking fo really lol!!
Temping would be no good for me, because although i am OCD, i am also rubbish in mornings so remembering to POAS is hard enough when i am bleary eyed!!!! :rotfl:
Guess I will just have to wait it out.... once i run outta sticks, that is it for this month lol! We have BD regularly from CD7 lol.... at least every 3 days, if not every 48hrs.. so you never know. Well, I DO know... my luck stinks pmsl... but hey ho!!
Whilst on the topic of BDing - does anyone else find that they KNOW that its better to do it every 48hrs rather than every day for healthy spermies BUT still feel like they are "slacking" by doing that????? LOL - I actually see the "no BD" day as a "day off" LOLBaldrick, does it have to be this way? bigmomma, I totally sympathise with not wanting to get too OCD about things. Husband was mildly terrified when I came off the pill in August and began preparing for TTC by reading every book I could get my hands on, temping every morning and discussing my cervical fluid at far too much length! I'm still not absolutely sure if I should be doing all of it or if it will get me too stressed, but assuming I am going to be doing temps........
Please can someone help me with some questions? (Sorry - annoying newbie asking constant questions - sorry!)
I have a slight issue with the whole taking temperature thing. I'm sure I can't be the only one who doesn't wake up at the exact same time every day. I naturally wake up when my husband wakes up for work, and most days I drive him to the station anyway. Depending on what train he is getting, wake up could be either 4.30am, 5.05am or 5.30am. Obviously weekends are later, and on days when he is not at home, I don't need to wake up for work until 6am.
What do I do? Everything I read goes on about how important it is for bbt to be at exactly the same time. I seriously don't think we could sustain me waking up to do temp at 4.30am every morning even if we don't need to get up for another hour, just so temp is taken at the same time all the time.
I can see why it would be a problem if some days you are temping at 5.30am and some days 7am and some days 9am, but if it is usually between 4.30am and 5.30am is that still going to make a really big difference?
The other question I have (sorry!) is that it says your bbt should be after 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep.
What do you do if, for example, you usually do your temp at 5.30am, but you wake up at 4am (needing the loo, or OH needing the loo, or being woken by the heating coming on...or whatever!) Do you do your temp then, so it is after 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep (though it is then a lot earlier than usual) or do you want until your usual time....but then that is not after 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep?
Argh! I am inclined to think it doesn't make a huge difference but I really don't know. The other thing that is annoying is that I use Fertility Friend, and that really does care if it is the same time every day, to the extent that it doesn't recognise what I think would be a thermal shift at ov, because it says temps are taken at erratic times - even when they were only taken at either 5.05am or 5.30am. Does 25 mins really make such a difference?! Argh!
Also....(last thing for now I promise!) I see you put things like '1DPO'. How do you work that out? As in, do you say it on the day that you think you have ovulated, or the day after? And am I right in thinking that three days of elevated temps mean you have ovulated for sure, but other signs can only help to indicate when it is?
So sorry about all the questions and thanks in advance to anyone who tackles them for me!0 -
Oh also please can I be changed to CD1 on the lists today. I think yesterday was just spotting and didn't count properly.
Thank you very much!0 -
hi daisie
i use the IC ovulation tests you buy on either ebay or amazon.
i start testing around day 8 as my cycles are sometimes 25 to 32 days long
i pee in a sample bottle & just dip the test in for 10 seconds.
i might be wrong but once you get a positive ovulation test, you should ovulate within48 hours. so once i get a positive test, i would say i am 0dpo
do you know what i mean? i am not completely up to date with the abbreviations but the first page or google usually help! its only recently i realised what poas was lol!!0
