Newbie to the thread and already offering excellent advice. Welcome daisiegg.

CB digis are less sensitive than ics, so I'd wait, try one with fmu in a few days and if it's still looking good, go for it with a digi because HCG levels double very quickly.

Also, feel free to post a photo in here. We've had a few people in here saying they got a TLP and posting a photo when it was actually a BFP - unlike an opk, a pregnancy test is positive if you have two lines assuming the line is not grey and came up within the advised time scale.

hi all! I wanted to ask a question about charting and AF... hope you lovely ladies don't mind.
what day really counts as cd1? because I usually have some (heavy) spotting, which is on and off before the "flow" starts. So do I count cd1 as the first sign of anything, or the first day it's continuous?

CD1 is the first day of proper full flow AF.

Feel free to ask anything you like. It's amazing how much you learn during this process.

Chiming in with potentially another silly question...how much difference does it make if you get CD1 wrong and think it is a day earlier than it actually is? If you are doing temps and checking cf etc will it make a difference? I ask because I have potentially the same problem except I seem to rumble along with heavy spotting for a couple of days before a proper flow....

Wont make too much difference, except to your cycle length. If you normally ov at day 14 but call CD1 a day early you'll just think you ov at day 13 instead, but all your symptoms will still be the same iyswim - you'll just think your cycle is a day longer than normal. The beauty of temping is that it confirms your ovulation and cm checking means you learn pretty much exactly when you ovulate.

I get the same spotting and it does make it difficult to call CD1 - I just call it on the first day I get proper heavy red bleeding.

Ladies - I am gettin frustrated now - CD18 and STILL flashy face on CB digi which means surge of estrogen but not the peak solid smiley face which means OV imminent. When you think that i OV'd on CD11 last month I can't honestly believe that this month i would OV on later than CD18?!?!

Which makes me wonder if i A) have a faulty test or B ) I missed OV when I ran out of test sticks... i tested on CD7 (because of early OV/shorter cycle) - negative. Only had 1 test stick left so then waited and tested on CD 10 - again a negative. Got more tests - Tested on CD12 and again negative. Then tested CD 14 - got flashy face which means "high fertility" and should be like that for a couple of days then change to solid smiley meaning peak (OV). So have had high for 4 days now.... no sign of a peak..

So the upshot of this lengthy write up is: I wonder if its more likely that I OV stupid early ie in the few days between CD7 - CD10 when i didn't test.... or more likely that my OV changes SO much that one month it occurs on CD11 and the next month its going to be at LEAST CD19....???
