Thank you for just confirming my exact argument and thus my suspicions about your mental abilities. I realise you will never understand what you have just done, so there is no point in any more rounds, but I trust all other readers will have a good giggle at your mistake.

Er, did you write this or not?
  • Guys and Gals, this has been fun but I am going into hospital tomorrow to have a malignant tumour removed.

I won't be able to resume the friendly banter for some time but I sincerely hope that someone will continue to carry the flag of the ignore camp on my behalf.

Best wishes to you all. And to newbies, remember this: "Don't let the evil bar stewards grind you down."

One sincerely hopes that the operation is successful and you are soon back at home in eastern Kent.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

Good luck with everything old salt, hope it all goes well (your avatar is much closer to a sailor than a firey),

Are you taking the homework I set with you? :)
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Well, well, well.

Nearly 100 posts and we are no further forward than when Mr Bill came on the scene.

So the fighter of wars (note the use of the plural) and he with the immutable argument, is off to have a malignant tumour removed.

All very metaphoric, if I may say so.

    Good luck Bill.

I think you'll find that the allusion is a railway one.

It sure don't look like a firey!

Ah, suddenly got the Fireman bit. He'd be the guy with the shovel, stoking the fire - how very apt a name. :)

Rather than work your way through the complexities of the law - try the POPLA website:

    "
The Act also introduced the concept of 'keeper liability' for vehicles parked on private land. However, for this, there had to be an independent appeals service, provided by funding from the parking industry.

That independent service is known as Parking on Private Land Appeals or POPLA.

Assessors at POPLA determine appeals from those who have been issued with parking charge notices, in respect of vehicles parked on private land. The motorist must first have made their case (‘representations’) to the operator who issued the parking charge notice and have had their representations rejected.

But if it's not enshrined in law, they don't need to actually have an independent service. This could come back to bite us.

Look boys and girls, Firemanbill has brought a friend along to play.
  • in the HIGHLY UNLIKELY event that they receive something that purports to be a LBA. Play the probability game to your advantage...snip...
There is a 1 in 380,000 chance of going to court at the end of the day.
I ignored for months and got a letter that purported to be an LBA, no matter how unlikely you think it might happen
Shame you weren't around a few weeks ago.
I could have taken you to court with me to win my case.
Would you have paid the costs if we hadn't won though?
