Bleach stain on dark clothing - feel like crying!

Clutching at straws....depending where the stain is, would it be possible to add a patch pocket to cover it? Something the same colour as the buttons, maybe leather...
Another possibility would be to *gasp*...bleach the whole item. Although you may end up with a tye and dye gilet.

Dylon do hand dyes - you stick them in a large saucepan with salt (from memory)

Duh too busy panicking! There is one for hand wash, but can't seem to find a colour that matches... nearest is navy blue and the gillet is more grey, but it'd be tonnes less obvious than what it is and might fit in well. I'm fried!0 -

That's probably the closest. It doesn't really show in the pix but the gillet has a very faint blue tinge. I think I'm just being nitpicky now though. John Lewis seem to sell it too!0 -
You are supposed to be able to mix the shades together apparently - half black and half antique grey perhaps?
Edit - or now you mentioned the blue tinge part grey part navy?
There is also something you can use to remove the original colour, and then dye the whole thing to a new colour - its called predye but I've never used it.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Felt pen!
I did the same to my (admittedly much cheaper crappy wooly from matalan
) only last week.
In fact i seem to do this a lot. I think my belly is just so big that it kinda presses against the sink and I don't really realise.
:rotfl:
Anyway, I bought a set of good quality felt pens that are kept solely for mishaps. it's not a long term solution as the colour does tend to fade in the wash but you just have to colour it in again.
Use the lightest possible colour first as they tend to go quite dark on the material and you dont want it sticking out like a sore thumb.
Honestly it works well.Herman - MP for all!

Dylon may just be covering their backs, but in the FAQ:
Q Will dye cover up bleach marks?
A As bleach can harm the fabric, dyeing may not usually cover up bleach marks.
