  • I do sometimes use it for shaving OxfordOwl, but currently also have a special shaving foam I need to get through at the same time :o

Liking the idea of 10 product to use before a treat Dolly, may well steal that one from you! :D

Along these lines I have decided to do a Project Pan, I am sure many of you have heard of it but if you haven't it works like this:

select a number of products (usually 10) that you want to use up and you can't buy anything new until these are finished. I have picked out 10 items , I haven't chosen things that are about to be used up, no sachets and I won't waste or throw anything away. My 10 items are:

    1. Dove Body Silk - almost full
    2. Bare Minerals Primer - about 1/3 left but last forever
    3. Bare Minerals Original Foundation in Light - 2g
    4. Guinot Mask Essential - about 1/2 left
    5. Body Shop Spiced Vanilla hand cream
    6. Mitchum Stick Deo
    7. Avon Far Away Perfume - 30ml
    8. Philosophy Hot Buttered Rum shower gel
    9. Body Shop Vitamin C Day Cream
    10. No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser

    .
I did this last month and found it to be a very good way of targeting things to use up.

I have got one for this month but I have not listed it but it is far easier to focus on a smaller number (project pan). I find with having my stash list there is far too much and even when you have used things up you dont really make much of a dent.

The list emailed to myself on the 2nd October or my project pan list for this month:
    cleardot.gif

Tesco Creme bath peach blossom 1 litre in use

5 X Flexitol hand balm sachet

    used up
    In use

I dol target more than 10 but I do have lots of sample sized items and I seem to get through things quicker than most.

I have several UU's that I need to list but with work being really busy I have not got round to posting.
  • Im procastinating the ironing pile catching up on the thread.

Alas ins to declare - had an hour to kill before my train from a meeting yesterday and took the opportunity for a lush bath bomb restock.

    Father xmas
    golden wonder
    lord of misrule
    shoot for the stars
    snowman
    soot ball
    luxury pud

also got a charity pot sample of hand and body lotion - I have tried this already and its unpleasant so hopefully it wont last too long.

A rimmel mascara which was a free gift from a nail polish purchase (I dont count these)

2 x poppet toothbrushes and toothpastes (these were purchased for operation christmas child boxes that im doing with DD)

Have painted my nails with Emily De Molly Monet's garden.

    Currently targeting -

TBS orange shaped soap which perhaps was once fruit scented sadly .

Max factor facefinity powder - I prefer the clarins one but this needs UU

Boots 3 minute hair mask - ancient and my hair prefers macadamia

Johnsons night time wash - again ancient but I actually quite like this.

Clinique happy 100ml - once one of my favourite smells this has remained half used and unloved for about 3 years as I have been saving perfume for special occasions!
    No more buying toiletries

Loving the lists and the Project Pan idea!

    UUs from this morning:

    11. Molton Brown Instant Indian Cress conditioner 30ml - WNBA, too pricey IMO and not conditioning enough!

    12. Benefit Porefessional 7.5ml - WNBA, I like this when first applied but find that it leaves my skin feeling oilier than usual by the end of the day. Maybe it works best with foundation - which I don't wear.

    13. Brilliant Brunette Fixing Shine hairspray 50ml - WNBA, this gives good hold but my hairstyle doesn't really need hairspray so I would never actually buy this on its own. This one came as part of a set.

    My UUs that I am aiming for by the end of this month are;

    1) Lily of the valley body cream - love the smell but not rich enough
    2) Vitamin E instensive moisturiser - ditto above
    3) Various body sprays that have been hanging around for ages
  • Just got back from my first exam (which went really well!) and went to go and have some late lunch (I was revising too hard to have lunch), but I only have cereal in (no kitchens in my accommodation), and I opened the fridge to find that someone's taken my milk!! GRR. They left a note saying sorry and that they'll replace it, but that's not much good to me now, is it? Borrowing a bit for a cup of tea, I get, but not taking the last two inches!

On the plus side, I've used up my Nivea Soothe and Protect lip balm. WBA, it's a nice basic one.

  • OMG, 11 days into October and I've not bought anything! Wow it's a miracle, although have been tempted at times! :j:T

Had a bit of a lightbulb moment last night, not to do with buying things but with holding onto them. PRCP never really did much for me, as I don't save things for best, I just save them to have them, especially Lush LE products or discontinued ones. I have a small piece of North Pole soap from last year that I've been holding onto all year, in case it didn't come back, and it hasn't, and I just stood there yesterday thinking 'well I'd better save it forever then'. But why? Just to say I have some? There will be other nice things when it's gone! I won't actually miss it!

YES Oxford Owl this is exactly my problem and why I joined this thread!! I'm actually going to put a huuuge job lot up on ebay soon of a lovely lot of stashed things because I will never get through them all and i have a slly hoard now, I'd rather keep a few lovely things that i will use and love. I will also add to my hoard before janaury with some lord of misrule, star light melts and some rose jam shower gel :rotfl:
But I LOVE these and I will be using them through the year..I just need to get the backlog cleared beofre they can come in :p
I'm procrastinating from revision, so I'm going to be nosy! What three products is everyone focusing the hardest on using up at the moment? I'm trying to ditch
    • Lush Flying Fox shower gel, as I've gone off the scent. I think there's one more shower in it?
    • Nivea Soothe and Protect lipbalm, about 2cm of product left. It's just remembering to put it on!
    • Lush Silky Underwear dusting powder - using after every shower and in my shoes. I have about half left, but it's going down quite quickly.
Just interested to see if you all target specific things, and I suppose what you've got spluttering and are confident you'll finish soon!

Good idea I will try and find some things that i want to target to use up before the end of the month, although if they are body lotions it may take me until Xmas lol!

    Septembers list

So what does project Pan actually mean..I'm impressed by your list Sam, I didn't quote it cuz I didn't want my post to be huge :D
    Don't turn a slip up into a give up:D
*NSD Challenge Nov 0/10* *£10 a day challenge Nov £0/£300*
No buying unnecessary toiletries challenge-in it for the long haul
    :D

  • UU BS Honey sample, might get this in full size when my £5 bday gift voucher arrives.

Pulled out the samples from the mag so that's INs of:
    sachet of Palmer's cocoa butter
sachet of Loreal ever riche shampoo
Debt free and busy treating myself:)

No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales
  • My use up list:

    1. Derma Q10 hand cream - I like this, and keep it in my desk drawer at work. I have 5 tubes of hand cream now though, so I really need to get through some of them!
    2. Head and Shoulders shampoo - less than 1/5 left, about 2 weeks if I use it for shaving. The last of my sulfate containing shampoos, and I've found it hard to get rid of, as people noticed I was sneaking it into the hand soap.
    3. Seaweed soap - half used, will use it for shaving with when the shampoo is gone
    4. Love Etc body butter - about 3 weeks worth if I use it every day, but I'm rubbish at using body lotions. I put this on before bed, because the smell can be a little strong for work.
    5. Dove leave in conditioner - about 1/3 left, but had this for far too long.
    6. Coconut Oil hair shine - if I still have this by the time I come to move, it will be getting binned. It just looks a little greasy when you apply it, so I've been using it as a bit of a scalp treatment/mask. Don't know whether it's making a difference.
    7. Johnsons holiday skin - about 2 applications worth left. I just need to find a good time to use them, as it will go off soon.
    8. Avon Sleeptherapy pillow mist - half a bottle left. Do not want to have to move this, so need to use it up
    9. 3x lip balm pots - christmas present from 2 years ago. They are very big, and not all that great, so have hardly used them at all. Persevering until christmas, but then I'll probably bin them.
    10. Various vitamins and supplements - I don't declare these on this challenge, but I have about 8 different supplements taking up quite a bit of room. Various products I picked up because I had seen someone recommending them for helping with skin problems, but they didn't work. I don't want to bin them, so I'm trying to use them. When they're gone, I'll probably buy the fish oil again, but that's about it.
