Very tactfully put Cheeky, vote cheeky for the United Nations ~ well united compers of MSE

Just noticed my winnings list has disappeared, and I've got "No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT3" instead ~ anyone any idea what that's about ~ I've never had any links on my list!!! not got anyone to link to.

Thanks Cheeky this has been bugging me (again) recently

It is frustrating to go back to where you finished last time to wade thru all posts with a 'thanks' or 'another one entered' at the bottom!!!

I'm not saying that I don't mind when there is a lot of work put into the post, or a query etc, but pointless 'thanks' when there is a button for that purpose is

I also have a cookie problem at work (although I rarely comp there) so can't always thank, but I do go back over them at home.

It's gonna be something that crops up every now and again with comping newbies (hope that doesn't offend - I should add 'to this forum' but then no matter what you write someone somewheere is gonna be offended  )

    Thanks again cheeky! ;)

  • I joined Loquax years ago and when/if i go on there which is reaely now i always go to the ones added today. The thing is they seem to duplicate comps i think just so it looks like they have quite a few on there. So for instace they might say there is a new comp but say 5 days later they will do it again.
    You're kidding right :rotfl:

We don't duplicate comps just to make it seem that we have quite a few comps. Site are highlighted as "new" when they have a new competition for users to enter (and that could mean a site appearing in the "new" section daily/weekly/monthly). If we just recycled comps before they closed then it would screw up the way our tracker works.

Anyway there's a fair few free web comps and quite a few free postal comps and hopefully not too many duplicates.

I am an official company representative of Loquax. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"

I would agree with what Jason says - Loquax is a very well organised site because it is a professional dedicated comping site. I also find the mods quickly address any duplicates of the forums.

I do most of my comping on mse and most of the amount of winnings in my signature is accounted for by wins on here. This is simply because I feel I belong here and feel very much part of our comping community. I do though really appreciate Loquax, especially the regional section on the forum.

Postcards have yeilded some poor results for me too in terms of time /cost compared to online comping. I do enter them just now because comping is simply fun for me. When I return to work after the summer holidays and have less time, they will be the thing I cut back on.

I love the banter - its as enjoyable as the comps to me :D. The 'thanks for posting' bumps are sooooo annoying though.

Thanks for all the replies. I might try a few when I can get on this thing. My kids take over most nights, but my time is now, when it's nice and quiet.
Are there other comps. other than on MSE I should keep an eye out for?

Well I downloaded Roboform and entered 4 comps. I expect I will do some everyday, it's just too easy not too... Looks like I'm on board.

ok - Is it only me whos scared to add to this thread in case its unnecessary bumpage;):D

See your point cheeky but sometimes as a poster of comps its nice to see a separate post from someone who takes the time to recognise the expense and trouble others go to to seek out and post comps and answers.

Could be controversial and annoying to some people but personally if i open a comp post and see ive already "thanked" the OP then i tend to just scan through rest of posts in case answers are wrong( I have been guilty of posting wrong answers in the past by mistake:o and am glad when someone points it out to me)

Think its always gonna be a "bug bear" for some and others couldnt really give a toss.:p

Hope I havent offended anyone - just my opinion fwiw
