Thanks for the first half of your answer, ginjim. I'll go away and spend a few hours looking for the thread of the comp that details how to make the clicky...

    Anyone else who can help?

    Thanks in advance.

I'll try to explain and hopefully it will make sense!

Copy the url that you want to use
write 'click here' or whatever on the thread and highlight it
click on the insert link icon (the world one)
paste you url into the box and press ok
you should have a workable clicky!!!!!!

    probably won't work now :rotfl:

    amount of posts i believe
  • its Roboform that is commonly used, not sure if i am allowed to type links, so try typing that in google, they have a free version that I have been using for a while and have had very few problems with.

Kirsten, a big thanks for this :T

I've just downloaded it (took 5 mins) and it's working perfectly, just entered 5 comps in about 3 minutes!

    Thank you :T

I did something helpful! for once! lol

I only just found this myself and LOVE It, so glad to help out.

Another tip -my brother in law works for a speciality magazine that occasionally has competitions and he confirmed that they very naughtily only pick winners from people who have ticked to receive more information. He doesn't run the comps, but said that he was aware that the practice went on.

I think with larger competition runners they know the regs back to front and are too worried about being caught to be sneaky, but much smaller companies know there is little chance anyone will catch on and think that winners should only come from people who are actually interested in their product.

I have taken this info and now tick yes for comps from smaller companies or website (very few, as most comps are from bigger companies).

Not fair, I know, but it does go on.

Thanks for the tip about smaller companies - very useful.

Roboform has enabled me to enter many more comps than I could have done otherwise, as I am a two-finger typist!
AND it's much better than autofill on IE or Firefox.

Another tip - I have a small word processor window open from which I can fill in holes that Roboform misses. I can usually drag and drop these bits onto the form from the window, which saves having to switch windows. Some forms don't let you do this, and I have to do the old copy and paste, but it's still almost always faster than typing it all in!!

    Hope this helps someone.:D

[Edit:] Sorry, I've posted twice and don't know how to remove the first one!! Oh, what's that delete button up there...? Aha! Done it.
