I briefly looked at twitter comments on HL and someone did suggest people should at least be refunded trading fees. I think that's not unreasonable.0 -
Placed £5000.00 with XO for RMG shares scaled back like most, I would like to ask what happens to the balance do you have to request it back to debit card or do they automatically send this out by cheque.
Thanks
You have to email for a refund, the address is on the RM page on their website. I assume they will send the money back to your card, but am not sure.0 -
Pretty disappointed with HL also.
I do understand that they are experiencing unprecedented levels of calls/website hits right now but it is not like we can go anywhere else to trade when they hold our shares on their platform and I think particularly the internet server could have been better prepared.0 -

If you bought the shares through the official government site then they're going to refund the difference on Monday straight back to the debit card you bought them with.
TD waterhouse just leave the money in your sharedealing account so you can simply log on and request it to be paid back.
Not sure about other brokers but everyone I know who got them through H&L is having problems with the online account and are only having any success selling by phoning up.0 -

The problem is that I haven't got far enough in order to be able to pay a trading fee.
I certainly wouldn't want to be in the IT department at HL at the moment. There is sure to be a lot of shouting going on.
Oddly enough HL's own share price is up today: http://uk.finance.yahoo.com/q?s=HL.L0 -

I'm in the same boat. But if and when people manage to get through to trade via HL today, should they be entitled to a refund of trading fees?0 -

Plus compensation for not being able to sell at 450p? If people finally get to sell at 440p then that's a "loss" of 10p per share.0 -
