Check - preece says this happened to him and it went through but when I did the same last week on an ipad it didn't (this was as the site used verified by visa[/URL]' (or the mastercard version) to verify your identity which doesn't seem to work on ipads)
Regards
Sunil
Specifically I hit a problem after verify by visa was successful. Instead of the confirmation page I got a message stating there was an error and 'incorrectly' asking me to try again.
This was Monday evening and the website was very slow so perhaps it the webserver was getting overloaded.0 -

The grey market suggest a price of £4.00 ish.
Nonsense.
Maybe, but I am struggling to think of any more credible reasons.
So why do they think snail mail is going to be so profitable?
Committed to sending a Postman to every address every day, so costs are fixed but letter volumes are falling.

Apologies if this has already been answered but what is the benefit of buying these shares through a broker rather than directly through the Royal Mail Share Offer website?0

I'd be very surprised if that price doesn't fall dramatically once the 'sell' orders start to flood in.0 -
I'd be inclined to leave one cheap share in the account to avoid the closure fee.
I take it you didn't read the Terms and Conditions before offering advice on them;
If you reduce or give instruction to reduce the level of cash and/or investments in your ISA to a value below the closure fee or to such an extent that we, in our reasonable discretion, believe you are maintaining the ISA solely to avoid our closure charges, then we may terminate the ISA with immediate effect and charge you our normal closure fee.“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” --Upton Sinclair0 -
Every seller has a buyer. A broker may be cheaper, the offer website just chooses which broker for you

I had a look through HL website and they explicitly say there are no charges to close the account

Sundry charges
Made in addition to the charges laid out above, where applicable.
Account closure fee No charge0 -
I put in for some Royal Mail shares through my Hargreaves ISA.
Am I allowed to put in for some more in my Hargreaves normal share dealing account as well?0 -

What has Hargreaves Lansdown got to do with any of this;I'm new to X-O and would like some advice..I would like to apply for 4k worth of Royal Mail Shares today, should I chose the Nominee account or ISA account?
I currently have not invested any money in a stocks & shares ISA, only my cash ISA.
Thanks in advance“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” --Upton Sinclair0 -

Yes, you can do that, but you can't apply via any other broken or directly.
This is because HL (and others) aggregate all your applications across different accounts into one application but this can't be done between different brokers.
However, I bet a load of people have done it and there will be media reports of people being penalised after the fact.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0
