    Not sure Grace

I don't intend to sell through Equiniti but was the market still open, IE before 4:30?
It turns out that you can only sell at best through Equiniti during market opening times. I can't seem to get it to set an At Limit with the log in process detailed in earlier posts.

Maybe I'd need to sign up (and wait some more) to use an At Limit. This is a pain in the backside, as I can't access the Equiniti during normal working hours (blocked at work).

I'm baffled by the high share selling fees being quoted around here.

    From this
http://www.money.co.uk/share-dealing.htm fees can typically be less than £15 per trade. Has Equinity got some sort of monopoly stranglehold on the RM offer so they can charge £45?

MSE warns that paper shares can cost £20-ish to trade but that they can usually be transferred to an electronic account for free so as to get the cheaper dealing fee:

All looks simple enough, what am I missing?

My earlier prediction of £12 a share when gaining FTSE 100 listing does not seem so bonkers at the moment

I did mine on the phone last Thursday and it took about 90 seconds and no waiting to answer either.

    Thanks fantastic,

X-O do not make that bit very clear on their FAQ. Does it really matter as long as you have currency, type of share ie ORD and the value? it still amounts to the same thing doens't it?

What details do I need to put on the form?

Name of Undertaking : e.g. Tesco PLC

    Description of Security : e.g. Ord 50p

  • not very mse to send cert back for selling. Theres no need to deal with them when you can transfer and sell at any broker, obviously cheaper is nice

For those who didn't ask for a certificate but got one - feel content. Once the hassle of transferring/selling is over you are likely to make a more substantial profit than me. I sold at £4.72 last week over the automated phone line. I'm content with that. It will cover, in some way, the rip-off energy price increases being announced by sheep following sheep.

I also made the mistake of selecting a share certificate. Was horrified when I saw the £45 fee! My only reservation with transferring to another company is once the transfer is in process and I have no share certificate for that 5-7 working days or so am I correct in thinking I can't sell them if things went belly up?

Basically I'm just thinking is it worth saving that £39 difference when the price of the shares could drop by that much and I have no control to sell? At least i can sell instantly now if I wanted if I saw things going down.

Some other (cheaper) options of selling your share certificates here - including selling your shares and then sending your share certificate in.

    Regards
    Sunil
