  • Still haven't got my email... disgraceful.
  • AndyBSG.

Did you decide to sell via the automated phone system hence the batches, the delay and the cheque? or is this also the way that the sharedeal website is operating as well?

Still waiting on my email, I am disgusted about how poorly this has been handled.

Finally got my E-mail and have placed the instruction to sell.

As mentioned on here, they are selling them in batches so you won't know the price you got until that batch goes through, which will be 15.00 for me.

Hopefully they won't drop too much in the next 5 hours but really not happy that I have to wait until 15.00 to sell instead of being able to sell at 11.00 like others just because they got their E-mail earlier than me

Also, despite the fact they have my debit card details from when I paid for the shares, they are sending the proceeds from the sale by cheque so I won't see the money for a while yet and can't immediately re-invest it.

Have to say the whole thing hasn't been run very well.

Fair point. I've bought only this morning, and expect to hold for the long term. Different strategy for different situations.

I don't want to try (and most likely have mixed results at best) and become an expert at holding individual shares. I am however currently diversifying my portfolio into more pension and shares. I have recently increased the shares % of my portfolio to 10% from 6%, by investing in ftse trackers, I hope to eventually get it up to 20-25%, maybe even more if I get out of property.

  • Question for those that have received their email: did you apply early, or is your surname quite early in the alphabet? Just trying to work out what order they're sending them out in!

I don't know why people are desperate to sell. Most of the institutions didn't get anywhere near what they wanted or got nothing at all. They're not going to stop buying just because it's up x amount.

Just got my email. No idea what order they are being sent out in I applied about 8pm on the deadline day and my surname begins with a Q!

Does anyone know how to sell them online using Equiniti?

I wasn't 'desperate' I just don't want to hold shares in individual companies, and especially low value amounts.

  • Good grief, still no email.

If I do sell, earliest will be likely tomorrow. Cheque sent out 2 business days later (likely Monday), possible received next Wednesday, 5 working days for cheque to clear... so earlier can re-invest would likely be 30th October...

Hmmm. They took bank details upon application and when you buy you have to pay immediately... when you sell we will have your money for a couple of weeks
  • There is an option to transfer to another broker and sell via them, not sure how this works and whether it would be quicker or not?

They should be around £2.78 by 3:00pm ;-)

    That'll do for me!:D

I might be wrong, but I don't think you will know what you have got till you recieve your cheque. It actually says they will by sold by 15.00, so presumably that could be anytime from when you instructed up intil then (though I think it will probably be around then as they will sell them as a batch). I think you will then not get confirmation until you recieve the cheque together with a statement.
