^^if that is true, it means nobody can sell their shares today...doesn't seem right somehow.

If you want to buy today, it will have to be from the big boys...& the price will be re-inflated, I'm starting to smell a rat.

No it doesn't, but (assuming all emails don't get sent in the next half hour) I wonder if the reason is logistics as much as anything.

Not just the issue of sending out so many emails, but also spreading out the effects of all the non-stockbroker RM shareholders wanting to trade on the stroke of 8am.

I don't suppose they can win: it's deemed wrong and unfair if they spread out the emails over a couple of days, but if everyone gets to act at 8am, it could be like Hargreaves-Wossname all over again.

^^so much for the Tory free market philosophy.

The stock market is more than capable of shifting lots of shares in a small window, its what its designed for. .....my money is on this delay being engineered for other reasons.

Share dealing services will be available to persons holding Ordinary Shares in the Royal Mail Nominee Share Service once they have received their shareholder reference numbers following Admission. It is expected that Shareholders who applied for Ordinary Shares in the Direct Retail Offer through an Online Application will be sent their shareholder reference number by email within two days following Admission.

It may not be just to avoid another Hargreaves Lansdown debacle. It may be to engineer a smoother ride for the share by avoiding sharp spikes where many people are selling at once.
