Checked the conditions, the Line Rental Saver is NON REFUNDABLE , so presumably you could move but at a price!Only available with paper-free billing
You must set up a Monthly Direct Debit to cover any call charges
Line Rental Saver payment is non-refundable
At the end of the 12 months you'll revert to monthly line rental and will need to reorder
I've never used 1571. Do I still have to still opt out?
if so, How?
Why do they make these conditions so obscure and complicated?
(yes I know why).0 -

Also, if you're partly through a 12 month period, then (if you sign up for 12 months now) when you come to the end of that period, you still have overlap time left on the other.0 -

As if they do it to bamboozle:eek:
The email I received today says *opt-in* required for 1571 / Caller Display.
When does it opt you out and when do you opt in?
#But that goes against the Mail article that says they will auto opt-in previous 1571 subscribers.#
Don't you just love how they think they are doing you a favour with TPS and removing the need for the 2 call requirement now BUT charging £1.75 (1571/C.D.)
They don't deserve my custom0 -
This is the last straw for me. Come Jan I'll be off to Sky. What has made me really angry is the Caller Display charge. This was brought in to avoid nuisance calls and is a safety thing for people like me, ie on my own and a pensioner.
For all BT high charges, if you ring them you get someone who can hardly speak English and unless the answer to your query is on their screen, they can't solve it.
I hope they loose a lot of customers thru this subliminal price hike.0 -
Think I might take up the sky offer for o2/be customers,,this rise is looking like its to fund the free BT sport service., either way I'm fed up of them keep doing it.Dony worry,be happy...0

Trouble is , most of the other landline providers will likely follow suit.
They all seem much of a muchness with very little real competitiveness between them on price once you factor in hidden charges etc.
There's a chance for a provider to make a killing with a really competitive option but that won't happen I bet. So much for competition.0 -
Sky change their packages from Dec 1st - the old Sky Freetime is not available to new customers, the new package does not have cheap evening calls only weekend ones. You have to pay £5 extra to get their anytime package. Caller display is available for free but you have to ask for it. Plusnet charge 99p/month for caller display - and if you buy a year rental in advance that apparently has no included calls at all. Read the small print, they push the headline rate but get it back on the small print, BT is not such a bad deal after all.0

This is suitable if you make few calls, and is available even if you have broadband.

£4.95/mo, with a £4.50 call allowance.
Calls 11p/min - so unless you're at under 45 min/month - it gets more expensive.
Amongst those qualifying - those on IS, or income-related JSA or ESA.
Thankyou0 -
I would like to know what is going to happen to my bill / service.
My bill shows just weekend plan, I use Primus and 18185 for calls.
I have caller display and am signed up for TPS. Caller display or Privacy does not show up on my bill / line profile, my bill / profile purely shows as weekend plan with no extra services. How do they know I am using caller display, will they just start charging me for it, will it just stop working ? I have lived at this address since 1990 so my BT service has just evolved over the years rather than a set contract like the regular house movers.0 -
If you have callet display then they obviously will know and charge accordingly.
Cancel it if you don't want it.0
