I always re-cycle packaging materials. And state in my item description that I do. That way the buyer knows not to expect "brand new" packaging, and plus it cover's yourself, if they do moan!

This has to be the most stupid thing to complain about, fine if it was a one that had been used 10-15 times and was not fit for purpose, the item had been recieved damaged due to inferior packaging or that the person had over charged massively but come on, I thing the person is just trying to get their postage costs back personally.
The sign of a wasted life is a tidy house, Welcome to the chaos!
  • I recycle all the time but try to make them look as good as I can by sticking a really big label over the whole front of the envelope. Never any complaints.

The only trouble I ever had(and it was a saga of emails every few hours for days:eek: ) was when I reused a whisky box. It was the only safe means of sending a flimsy item and I used loads of inner protection. I covered 3 sides of the box with brown paper (before I ran out) and the huge labels on 2 sides were new and nicely printed on the PC. The buyer was irate because they are a family of staunch tee-totallers and the fact that the postman had a joke that they'd taken to drink pushed him right over the edge:eek:. There was only a fraction of the whisky name showing on one side of the box yet he was Mr Angry for weeks!

I can laugh now but at the time I felt like packing eBay in completely.
  • I always recycle packaging. I have never had any complaints either. With hubby's job being enviromental advisor, I have no choice lol.

I did worry once though when the only box big enough for one of my listings was a latex rubber glove box, the contents just for the record had not been bought by myself, it was a box from the wholesalers. I did however wrap it in brown paper, to save the buyer from a questioning postman.

I am shocked about Amazon, and think that they will have to re consider their rules in the future. I wonder if they will come under the packaging waste regulations?

I once had a intricate dress with tiny sequins and beads arrive in a flattered salt and shake crisp box . Hlep together with a million staples. Unfortuantely the dress had been stapled too and the beads went everywhere when i opened it lol. They refudned no problem luckliy.

I recycle 50% of the time.

I had a book swap from www.readitswapit.co.uk that arrived in a weightwatchers frozen ready meal box and my postman lol at that. Didn't mind though was a good book :)
