Complaint about re-using jiffy bag

I received an e-mail from a buyer saying that I should not send items in re used jiffy bags

I don't re-use often just when I have a chance and always seal well etc.

What are your thoughts on re using jiffy bags?
I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something

i always re use jiffy bags!!! it's called recycling. Just ignore them. As long as it was packaged well and your P&P was a fair price continue doing it.

Most items I buy are sent in reused jiffy's so loads do it.

Re-use and Recycle where possible, it's one less item to throw in the landfill, and use it as a selling feature - reduced P&P. Surely it is better to use them again where possible?!

I've had a similar email in the past, the buyer wanted to reuse it themselves, but couldn't.

I was also criticised for using a brown jiffy bag instead of a white one - postman joked with the buyer it was !!!!!!!

Give them a huge lecture on environmental issues, the philosophy of recycling, and the reduction of landfill and carbon footprints.

Oh - and add to your blocked bidders list!

eBay can be difficult enough without whingin' muppets like that !!!

To avoid future idiotic comments from buyers, might be worth putting something on your ads about using wherever possible recycled packaging.

Some people just like to find fault with everything.

I have no problem with re-using, so long as they're up to the job and you haven't been charged for them as new ones.

I did have a problem with someone sending me something in nothing more than a re-used plastic bag, sending it 2nd class and charging me a fiver for it, when it cost him £1.xx

    I'd send a message back:

I recycle packaging where possible because I believe in protecting the environment for future generations. I'm sorry if this offends you.

Silly really, I've never had anyone say anything except for when I used a empty beer box as an outer box for a well secured item! And even then they said they'd bought two of the same item and mine was much more securely packed and sent as the other item broke in transit!

I always re-use jiffy bags and often receive items in re-used bags too. As long as it's packaged well i don't care. I do put a statement at the bottom of my sales that i re-use packaging for environmental reasons, but i've never had any comments on it.
Just ignore them is my advice
